Thanks for the well wishes everyone. The kiddo is doing much better today. His temp actually got up to 104.5 last night. We were getting ready for a hospital trip and then decided to try the old lukewarm/cool bath trick. It worked like a charm. After 15 minutes in there and full of Tylenol and Ibuprofen, his temp fell back to normal within the hour. He hasn't had a fever at all today. He's pretty tired, has a lingering headache, and a cough, but doesn't feel too bad. Sometimes old remedies are still the best.

Great news SS. And yessir, old remedies are still usually the best. My great-grandfather used to actually eat Vick's Vaporub ( ) when he got a cold or allergies, while my grandmother would put it in a boiling pot of water (with the towel over the head) to help with colds or allergies. And they worked like a charm. He lived to 92 years.

Human beings have been living on this planet for thousands of years and know what the hell they're doing. We don't need some power-hungry ******* like Fraudci to tell us how to stay healthy.

I'm sorry about your daughter and your struggles, but who are "they"? And why do we have more deaths in 2021 than 2020 when (I believe) a pretty good portion of the population were fully vaccinated by April 2021?

Just legitimate questions jitter, not tryna be a dick.
They are the excela health people we have monthly calls with them. They just go over the numbers of their 3 closest hospitals to us. As for deaths I don't know. I have not heard or have not been following the deaths in the area but i do not think they are very high. The local schools have been having some issues with students being positive, but do far none have shut down.

As for overall deaths i don't know? One thing to consider is the timing. In my area the worst months were last fall so it took 9 months or so to make it over this way. In Jan 2021 it was already fully spread throughout the country.

I have always questioned the effectiveness of the vaccines due to the number of people who have had the vaccine and ended up with covid again sometimes worse than the original infection. The weird thing at least in my bubble is we have only had a couple resident infections or reinfections and have had several staff test positive. I also think some are naturally immune. My GF has worked in 2 homes that had many residents with covid, I had covid, her mom, dad, son all had covid and she never got it. My GF also gets sick way more than i do. My daughter has also had a few exposures including when i had covid and never had any symptoms. Just a weird disease overall

Glad he is better. Tough luck on the timing.
Whether you and Mom got the Covid flu shot or not, you can still spread the Covid, just like any old flu.....

I was considering a booster, but it's $50.

Wish I knew where I could get $50 ...

Jitter$50, it would look like this:

No… PA put a referendum on the ballot last year asking the people to limit the length of the Governor’s emergency powers without state legislature approval… It passed…

The Governor tried to say it wasn’t binding because he didn’t sign it into law, but a public referendum trumps his executive powers… they huffed and puffed about lawsuits, but then backed down… I believe they might try something closer to the midterms so mr wolf can be tyrant supreme yet again, though I’m not certain how he gets around a clear cut check on his power….
You damn right if we didn’t get that, when delta came around **** would have been shut down and All the other bs added

And another conspiracy theory ends up being proven fact. Fauci lied. As he has all along, but he lied in front of and to Congress. He and the NIH did fund gain of function research knowingly.

He should be going to prison.

Two weeks after National Institutes of Health director Francis Collins announced his retirement, his agency has complicated congressional testimony by Collins and National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Anthony Fauci about alleged gain-of-function virus research sponsored by the U.S.

Both officials have denied approving grants for such research through the EcoHealth Alliance and Wuhan Institute of Virology, but a letter Wednesday from NIH Principal Deputy Director Lawrence Tabak to House Oversight Committee ranking Republican James Comer describes an unforeseen experimental result that calls the denials into question.

The letter shows that "NIH — and specifically, Collins, Fauci, and Tabak — lied to Congress, lied to the press, and lied to the public," Richard Ebright, lab director at Rutgers University's Waskman Institute of Microbiology, tweeted Wednesday night when sharing the letter. "Knowingly. Willfully. Brazenly."

So the CDC, in never-ending attempts to lose all credibility....will be recommending masks for kids in schools forever it appears.

Meanwhile every weekend and some weekdays here in the USA:

Silence opposing scientific opinion...thus negating "science"

"Just nine days later, on October 20, Horak was fired by Lake Region Healthcare (LRH), being told his ‘views were no longer congruent’ with the hospital and health provider."

The bad, bad, Omicron!!!!!!!!

"It presents mild disease with symptoms being sore muscles and tiredness for a day or two not feeling well," Coetzee explained. "So far, we have detected that those infected do not suffer the loss of taste or smell. They might have a slight cough. There are no prominent symptoms. Of those infected some are currently being treated at home."
