So he has no intention of following in Brady's footsteps....but what are the chances he changes his mind? I'm sure everyone remembers the Mason Rudolph drama with Ben getting upset over Mason being drafted. This is after throwing out that he might retire at the end of the previous season, and the Rooneys reaction to that in the draft. There seems to be no telling what he will do... 2 or 3 more years would give the team badly needed time to find his replacement if the Aaron Rodgers scenario has 0% chance of playing out as some claim...what say you?

He talks about this at around the 5:00 minute mark. " I promise you I won't be playing at 44."---Big Ben

I remember the media taking a quote from Ben and running with it, and turning the Mason situation into something it wasn't. Ben thought that the team could have used someone to contribute right away, not in the future and that's why he was upset at the Mason pick. Not because it was Mason, but because it was a back up QB when they had other needs in his mind.

I don't think Ben plays past this year no matter how it ends. The fire is always going to be there, but he might not be able to do the whole years worth of wear and tear.

Sure. I was just saying he was upset about it, after hinting at retirement and leaving the team wondering what was going to happen. They didn't pick a backup...they were picking a potential starter because of Ben's statements regarding retirement....then dude is "surprised" at their choice in the draft. That's just Ben; create the drama then pretend it never happened, whether injury or this.

I really have no interest in Rogers coming to Pittsburgh. I hope we have a pretty Good Ben for a.couple more years, until a real QB can be found.

The Rogers debate has yet to play out but when we watch BEN play currently, we can see that he won't be playing at 44. If he makes it through this year unscathed,...... maybe one more year.

Sad to see an end to an era but I think it's pretty nuch time to face the music, whether this year or next as his final year.

Stranger things have happened, TB12 anyone ?

I like Ben, but look at the way Brady and Rodgers are still able to move around in the pocket. As much as I hate the guy, Brady takes care of himself in the offseason.

Ben was never known for his fitness, add in the fact he was always taking a beating behind years of bad offensive lines. It’s pretty obvious through the eyeball test the guy is hurting. I think he’s done after this season. I like the guy, hope he retires and finishes a Steeler after this season.

I wouldn’t mind giving Rodgers a try if he’s interested btw.

I don't see us bringing in Rogers here. He is still under contract next season so we would have to give up draft picks of some sort to bring him over. He also would have to agree to it. If he goes anywhere it will be a team on the cusp of the SB. We are not that team. Even though I would love to see how well he plays behind our OL.

The above is how I feel about it. I guess tomorrow night we'll see how that shoulder really is.

Rogers or br*dy would have finished their careers years ago had they played behind BEN's offensive lines through the years.

Take out the cush protection order from the rog and their careers would be even shorter.

ALSO NOTE: Any kind of comparison to br*dy is MUTE due to his CHEATING.

I would say that adding Rodgers makes many teams an instant contender

If our line gels, Najee keeps doing his thing, Chase, DJ, Muth and our D that adding Rodgers would definitely make us a contender next year...I also doubt we are willing to give up what it would take to bring him in for a few years SB window

Stranger things have happened tho

When Rogers comes aboard next year, I expect warm and cozy thoughts coming his way. Remember warm and cozy.😅

That is a lot of if's.....but hey. If all that happens then we are NOW contenders. SB here we come.....maybe.

There was also the Dobbs factor in the Mason story… Ben really likes Dobbs and his input.. i think he really felt dobbs could have been his successor / backup and we drafted mason

If we're going after an established veteran QB (which I really don't see us doing as it will cost way too much draft capital and money), I'd go Wilson over Rodgers. Wilson is younger and much more mobile. I actually would see nothing wrong with Mayfield ending up here but for the right price (I would not pay him like a top 5 QB. He's in the top half of the league - probably around 10 give or take. I know most think he sucks but I think he is a well above average QB and with the right team can win a SB or two. Mayfield is the best QB the Clowns have had (and haven't completely ruined yet) in decades yet they seem reluctant to give him a contract. I watched him play in college when I lived in OKC and now in the NFL.

BUT, my ultimate choice is to get a draft choice that turns into our franchise QB for the next 15 to 20 years and hopefully that happens in the next 2 or 3 years and not decades like last time. This will be predicated, of course, on us having a ****-**** for a season so we can get a top pick. This year has already turned around enough that unless we lose most of the rest of our games (which after this weekend, anything is possible), we won't be drafting much better than the middle of the pack again. Right now, I don't see Rudolph or Haskins getting it done for us but we will all learn a lot about them this offseason when there is no Big Ben around.

I think the 44 comment is just showing that Ben is really thinking about coming back next year as well...he may want another crack at it if the O line is gelling unless he pulls a miraculous SB run out of his hat this year.

first a noodle arm
now he is looking past this week's opponent Chicago ...... all the way to 2027
AND projecting a quitter attitude.. wow
Boobie's going to be losing his ****

Not to mention that all accounts suggest (nay, scream) that Rodgers is another prima donna ***** on the level of Antonio Brown. Rodgers has made clear that if he doesn't get his way, he's going to be a complete ***** about it.

Right now he's actually pretending he's angry about somebody "leaking" his vaccinated status. Look. I'm all for choosing to go unvaxxed and all. But if your ******* job says "You gotta do it, or you don't work/play" then he has a choice to make. And ultimately, he lied about it and took the ***** route. Then when it all comes out, he's acting like he's the ******* victim.

Dude. YOU ****** up. That was YOU.

For those paying attention, that was a "triple ***** discount".
