Whining about Watt punching the ball, and that he should have been ejected.... they post a punching rule as it pertains to punching another player.
WTF?

But then they go on to say that they whished they drafted Watt instead of the bum they did.
Sounds familiar (Bush}

I Googled the rule as it pertains to punching the ball.
A player may not bat or punch:
(a) A loose ball (in field of play) toward his opponent’s goal line or in any direction in either end zone.
(b) A ball in player possession.
Then notes that:

Note: If there is any question as to whether a defender is stripping or batting a ball in player possession, the official(s) will rule the action as a legal act (stripping the ball).
When has a penalty of this nature ever been called?

I agree the whine a ton. And if you are whining at the end of that **** show finish you are king of the *******. I would say if he contacted the player not the ball it is a UR penalty. Ejection would involve intent. He did not intend to punch him.

I feel like Watt is that player that every teams fan base would want. Ability, effort, attitude total package player.

Yep. I feel the same way about Cam. And if Najee Harris keeps it up, I'm getting me a #22 jersey soon. Same with Muth.

When I first saw him punching I thought he'd lost his mind. But then I saw the replays and different angles and you could tell he was going for the ball. Maybe if they'd just do away with stripping the ball this sort of stuff wouldn't be an issue.

Punching the ball is not a foul and never will be.

The 2 forearm shivers to the facemask could be seen as aggressive strikes to the face and he was lucky not to be ejected for that.

I believe he will be fined for it this week.

Apparently smashing your helmet into Watts face mask is OK though….just ask number 73 on the Seahawks..

Next week, on TJ WaTT but only if the game is close enough to make a difference.

Apparently Keith Butler came up with a new defensive strategery.

Shoebert's play call in the Huddle "Lights-out X punch BLITZzzzzzzz"

I think Watt went a little overboard there and don't have an issue with the penalty, but definitely didn't warrant an ejection.

I wouldn't have been surprised if was ejected. I think he was lucky he wasn't.

To be honest, I was sitting in that corner of the field very close and saw him swinging away and immediately thought he was punching someone.

I assume that is what the ref thought too.

Of course I was under the care of some ice cold beverages which contain a percentage of alcohol. The ref wasn't. Therefore, he's a dumbass.

They are only crying because Watt ended their last hopes 2 quarters after this happened. Otherwise they wouldn't care. But yes they are *******. Always have been, always will be.

I was in the far end corner and just saw the arm going. I assumed it was Watt very aggressively trying to punch the ball out. Not sure there's a defender in the league who is as aggressive as Watt in this department.
