1. Ben
2. Rudolph
3. Haskins
However you are really looking at 2 a and b. What it means if Ben gets hurt short term is Rudolph gets first crack. But the leash is a foot long at best. If Ben gets hurt long term they are a wild card team at the very outside. At that point it becomes an audition for next year with the same pecking order and leash. I'm confident if Ben doesn't return next season, Haskins will.Or someone at least as good for the opportunity to compete with Rudolph as a starter.

rudy looked good for the most part...but drives stalling in the red zone ******* suck.....
True but they got down there everytime. Playcall and run game matter too. I'd really like to see Rudolph and Haskins in camp fighting it out if Ben calls it a day.

They will give Haskins the start next game. Depending on how he does Thursday Night he could either become the #2 guy or stay at #3. He's exciting to watch but once in a great while he makes a bad throw that makes me go......GAWD!

still have to do better than 3 FGs

if he got the ball out ahead of Freiermuth on his first drive he would of have the TD.

I don't see anyway he ascends to 2 based upon the game 4 scrubs.

When they drafted him I thought he had the look of an NFL QB if there is one. But yeah his face is punchable at times.
Mason looks better than I thought he would. Obviously I want him to do well, but he just looks like a smug little *****.
C'mon, y'all.... are you forgetin' the likes of Leaf & Rivers? Now them's some punchable mugs if ever I seen 'em!!

If this was a competition, he would have gotten in earlier today…. He was only in the running in people’s heads… i mean if he tore it up and forced their hand, sure, but he hasn’t…
very true. But I would say the seed is there. If it comes down to Rudolph the leash is short.

I mean the thing we have to remember about Haskins is this preseason looks a lot like his first… I don’t know how much the coaches are going to trust him right off the bat… i mean if Rudolph is throwing picks and losing games, sure but if he is putting up solid but not spectacular numbers they aren’t going to switch… the staff seems to have more confidence in him than even I do… cause I’d have never structured that contract like they did …

People, get it out of your head. Haskins will be the No. 3 this year. Rudolph has done nothing to lose his spot and Haskins has not done enough to blow past him. The only way Rudolph sees the field this year is if Ben gets hurt (knock on wood) and the only way Haskins sniffs the field is similar to Duck, if Rudolph starts stinking when he is in there. Haskins will get his show at passing Rudolph next year. This year was all about seeing if he could make the team and then learn as much as he could from Ben and even Rudolph for a year.

All you need to know is the Steelers didn't have confidence enough in Haskins to even give him a shot with the 1's and the 1's probably won't play at all next week, although, with the week off this year before the regular season, I think they should play a few series.

I thought Rudy did well until the red zone where his accuracy wasn't as sharp. Overall statistically he had a more accurate preseason over Haskins. But the inability to complete drives isn't a confidence builder. I think you have two capable short term answers to the backup position. I have to see more to go beyond that.

Against a bad team like Detroit he was able to hide his faults. Even the worst teams in the league force QBs into to quicker decisions and throwing the ball into tighter windows, two things Rudolph is not particularly good at and what severely limits his upside.

Haskins is simply a case of people wanting him to better better than he is. I think 95% of Steelers fans don’t believe Rudolph is the answer moving forward and want another option. Haskins has a terrific arm and he’s actually performed a lot better than I thought he would, Rudolph has just been with the organization for a long time and is better suited in the backup role.

I mean Rudolph has been fine the past two preseasons he has played and looked fine vs Cleveland… his reads and decision making have been lightyears ahead of where he was in 2018…. The knock on him not going deep and most of the mechanical issues are moot now…

the guy is basically a low end starting qb in the league.. fine as a backup… he is completing 75% of his passes for 8.3 ypa this preseason… those numbers translate into scores more often than not…

Rudolph isnt a franchise guy, but he is capable of getting you 200 to 250 yards passing, 2tds and a pick most games, which is fine….

Dwayne haskins looks slightly behind where Rudolph was in 2019ish haskins is actually making reads and thats brought his completion percentage up, but he still is way too quick to check down… he is a work in progress…

At times do you mean a Lot of the TIME ?

I hear yaz SteelerSask, Mason is 2a and Haskins is 2b. If it comes down to them being relied apon I hope that leash isn't to short on Rudolf and he is given a full play book. Haskins is the one the play book will need to be limited.

Salute the nation

The Bolts definitely had an all punchable roster at QB. But for my money it's the Harbaughs. Who wouldm't want a free shot to those ******* face.
And the Mannings. Especially right in Peyton’s giant forehead.

Haskins has performed well against the 2's and 3's. Rudolph has performed well against the 1's and 2's. Neither has yet, this year, performed well in this offense against the 1's who have been game planning against the Steelers offense like they will in the regular season. Hopefully neither is called upon to do so this season.
Personally, they both exceeded my expectations this preseason and both should be commended for the work they've put in. It only makes the team stronger.

Rudy moved the ball well, end zone problems you cannot blame him more on the plays called and lack of equation from line and receivers. Perfect time to see the running game and we did not seem to want to see what we have. Detroit ran the ball in as if we did not exist. Haskins really showed nothing last night. I know different personnel in for each QB but these are suppose to be the elite in the NFL and should perform no matter who is in the line up. All and all it will be this new O line that will make or break this season.
