Tim Benz "rooting" for Aaron Rodgers to replace Big Ben when he retires.

He's also the only QB in NFL history to lose 4 straight NFC Championship games. They must've all really feared him.
So, does that mean Jim Kelly isn't one of the greatest to play the game having lost 4 Super Bowls?

Will Rodgers accept being behind HASKINS on the depth chardt ???

Good point, but Kelly was also the driver behind the K-Gun offense. Marino was probably one of the best pure passers to ever play the game, but he didn't win a Super Bowl. I guess there are a lot of factors and a lot of different opinions on who are some of the best to ever play the game. I weigh Super Bowl wins pretty high up there on factor. Rodgers is a future first ballot HOFer no doubt, I already said that. But one of the best to ever play the game? I think you have to have a better playoff record. JMO.

4 ******* pages of this and none of you inbreds have the class to bring up Tim Benz's cousin. How awful you all are. Depressing, even.

I can see that especially hearing his unnecessary "Green Bay is not a vacation destination" shot he took.
I can't imagine that Rodgers thinks Pittsburgh is one, either.

This is a money post. 💰 I'd say Rogers is great undeniably. 1 championship and big stats and accolades gets you in the HOF first ballot no doubt. Which in my books makes you great. Among the best of all time requires multiple championship wins. If he had three SB with his personal career I'd say in the 3-4 best range. He is not there now.

I dont want him. If i dont love the players how can i love the team. wierd huh.
I will give you a what if. What if you could see into the future and picking him up would give the team another ring? Would you still not want him?

Four NFC Championship losses since 2014. Man, it must be nice to actually make it out of the first round of the playoffs...
Curious… would you say anything different if the Steelers failed in 4 consecutive conference championships? Or would you be happy with getting out of 1st round

I'd rather lose 4 straight AFC Championship games than not get there at all. One and done in the playoffs sucks and that has become the expectation.

His record when trailing is not impressive.

Consider that we nearly set a Super Bowl record coming back from 21-3. It took a fumble when momentum shifted to get it back & still had a chance with 2 min drive after being held a FG.

The real anomaly was Ben not driving us down for a chance. Historically he’s one of the best ever. Literally—he’s 3rd All-Time in 4th quarter comeback/game winning drives. He passed Marino, Elway and Unitas last year (not bad company) and even tied for 2nd in league with 4 such drives.

How would history judge Ben if he directed a TD drive then? Same to Rodgers? Ben would be in a rare category of 3 rings while Rodgers would be a choker
Not sure what you mean by the last paragraph. The old what if game again. Well,Ben didn’t. Doesn’t have 3,and I guess he,not Rodgers would be the “choker”

Right. Statistically speaking he’s no Roethlisberger.
Statistics. Playoffs.

Big Ben. 13-9. 34tds-28 int’s. 5757 yds Yes. That is not a misprint. 28 int’s.
AR. 12-9. 45 tds-13 int’s. 5669 yds.

Career.

Big Ben. 396 tds 201 int’s
AR. 412 tds 89 int’s.

Last year AR 48 tds -5 int’s.
This debate was like a heavy weight fight, good back n forths. When addressing those short comings I think peeps should ask themselves was he just not clutch or did he elevate lesser play maximizing the situation getting the most out of what was available. In that SB win I remember a QB that was threading a needle deadly in his approach. Fans say Ben didn't have the coaching to maximize his talents. I think you would find Green Bay fans that echo the same belief. It could be one or the other or somewhere in between. Regardless the guy has had some wow-ing moments as has Ben. Ben perhaps even more. We could argue that AR is the healthier option present day. And that he would be the best option next year if available.
I rewatched that game ,and yes Rodgers definitely threaded the needle. Many people love to blame the fumble. Those 2 int’s in the first half, one being returned for a td certainly had most to do with it. Rodgers? 3 tds no int’s.

i hear ya Bleeder. But to be honest with you,I didn’t like Ben that much in the beginning. I wasn’t alone. I Definitely turned a blind eye because of all the victories.

I will give you a what if. What if you could see into the future and picking him up would give the team another ring? Would you still not want him?
To this”what if”. Slash,I think we both know he would be a frigging folk hero!
Yes he’s an ***. After winning the SB all of a sudden he would be misunderstood, passionate, quirky. Especially if he won 2. I saw the interview you saw and for sure agreed with your analysis.

This is about it. Rodgers is the most arrogant guy in the league and I'd bet most of this fanbase can't stand him. There's also no chance the Steelers would ever make a bold move like this (and I doubt Rodgers would even want to come here) post Ben, but man, that would be about as soft of a landing with a QB that you could get outside of falling into the No. 1 spot in the draft with a franchise QB.

Rodgers is a first ballot Hof player both for pro football and pro douchbags

Just needed a little heavier emphasis on the douchebag part.

I rather have the story of a reclaimed #1 pick, making good in Pittsburgh. Or they guy who took his lumps , literally behind Ben for a few years, quietly becoming a great QB in Pittsburgh. Or we draft a QB next year who comes in and beats the pants off both Haskins and Rudolph. I ******* hate Aaron Rodgers. The thought of having him here turns my stomach a bit. I'll pass. Yes slash even if it meant going to the SB. I like dog fighting Michael Vick better, tbh

I can't imagine that Rodgers thinks Pittsburgh is one, either.

Pretty much.

I'm sure there are a lot of current Steelers, especially those who grew up in the likes of Florida, Texas and California, who are not exactly thrilled about working and spending so much time in western Pennsylvania, but whatever.

Rodgers seems to take it further by holding a level of contempt and revulsion towards the people of Wisconsin.

I'm not sure I could ever root for a guy like that, regardless of how good he may be.

You are definitely a liberal. Self selecting the stats that support your narrative. How about career passing yards? Super bowl wins/appearances? Winning percentage?

Yeah. I’m a liberal. Lol.Supporting my narrative. Lol.

“Statistically speaking,he’s no Roethlisberger “
So I gave some factual stats.

I gave what I thought were some important stats. Playoff stats. Career playoff stats. Career playoff passing yards.
Gave playoff records if you didn’t notice. 13-9 Ben......12-9 Rodgers. Figure out that winning percentage yourself.

You don’t think the TD to INT stat is important and shouldn’t be noticed? I disagree. You want career passing yards?
Look them up yourself. I gave career playoff passing yards. I was kind of into the playoffs. You might remember them. There was a time we did well in the playoffs. If you don’t think that 34 tds to 28 int is important such is life. In fact I find it an incredibly telling statistic. I think Ben has under performed many times in playoff games. It’s a what have you done for me lately sport. In the playoffs? Not so much.

You bring up the SB appearances. While Ben had one of the greatest runs ever to get us to the Seattle SB,he did nothing in the big game. They won in spite of Ben. You don’t agree? That’s life. Go rewatch.

The GB game, average at best. The 2 int’s in the first half one returned for td had a lot to do with the loss. Could have made up for it all with an epic drive. Didn’t. If you don’t think Rodgers totally outplayed him.....that’s life. Go rewatch.

Arizona....... great game. All time best pass in SB history. Epic drive. James Harrison best return for a TD in history.

Telling people they “ self select facts, are liberals”just because they don’t agree with your narrative makes you a ******** in my book.
