BREAKING: Training Camp Will Not Be Held in Latrobe

Its a damn shame this generation of Rooney seems to have a jellyfish for a spine... if its good for everyone else its fine for the Steelers too... what dumbfuckery did tge nfl concoct to justify this decision....

I hope roger gets attacked by a starving rabid squirrel desperate for nuts...

I think this. If Art duece would just stand up to the **** head "rog" and don't back down, it would be a go. There are many things Art2 should be standing up for but he is not going to rock the boat as long as the $$$cAchiNg$$$ keeps coming in.

Salute the nation

Its not really football like we used to know it.....It's now entertainment...Sorry but that's the way the game has devolved.

let it add more fuel to the staff and vets that love Latrobe thats all we can hope for and hope the fags going to Cali do dumb Dallas Cowboy things
The vets are absolutely thrilled they can stay in their own homes for training camp.

And not have to stand in the heat and give autographs every day. Fans are the only ones caring for sure. That and the Latrobe economy.

Two years in a row without money coming in really kills that small town. They depend very much on the money from training camp.
Wonder with AR2 will do anything to help make up for that loss $$.. lol I couldn't type that last part keeping a straight face.

Even the VFW in Latrobe had some really good people, you like to see that town have money free flowing. I can't get into training camp anywhere else.

I think a bigger deal than the Steelers not going away for camp or the economic boost is it's a way for fans who never get to see the team in person get up close and personal. Walk through that parking lot any given day and you'll see license plates from 10-15 different states. People literally plan vacations to attend camp. It's when a new generation of Steelers fans are born when kids travel with their families and watch these practices and meet the players. Two straight years people don't have the opportunity to do this means they find something else to fill their time and may never come again. It may not be a huge impact, but there'll be a decline in present and future fans without training camp at SVC.

Yep. You simply can't get the same atmosphere at Heinz. You can only roam indoors, have little to no opportunities for autographs. The booths and eats and ability to walk around made Latrobe a perfect outdoor event for a Steeler fan. I doubt I go for whatever they concoct this year. I think they eventually could get the fans back at St. Vincent but it doesn't appear it will be anytime soon.

If the Rooneys hold it every year at Heinz it will be money in their pocket and not Latrobe's. Players I doubt like it at Latrobe's dorm room vs own place with family every nite. It is what it is.

It is probably the fan interaction that doomed Latrobe. Many of the barriers between the players and fans are minimal, making interactions, autographs, etc. possible.

This is probably what the NFL rejected because of the inability to control player/staff interactions like they can at Heinz.

It sucks for fans and Latrobe.

The only buzz I saw was the size of the locker rooms and weight room. The fans really aren’t that close unless the players make an effort to go to the fence.

Not to mention the occasional interaction between players/coaches and fans at Sharky's. Years ago, we saw Russ Grimm in there at the bar double-fisting Miller Lites like they were going out of style. Little stuff like that is memorable for fans.
