I don’t think they should sit and wait in the second round. Humphrey is the best center available and would fill a big hole/problem. Move up if necessary.
 
The more I think about it, the more I like. Get the dynamic, plug-in players you need now while Ben is still around IMO.
 
Meinerz is my dude for Center. Guy has a bit of a screw loose like Joey Porter. Mean and powerful and plays with an attitude. Old School Steeler player IMO. No need to give up what little draft capital they have to get Creed
 
Give away the rest of our draft if we can lock up Eichenberg and Meinerz tonight.

I own one Steeler Jersey and it's Dirt Dawson. You're right, Center has been a damn tradition in Pittsburgh. Meinerz can dunk a basketball at 320lbs. I don't think any of our previous centers could do that. Crazy athletic. You'll hear me give a Ric Flair WHOOOOOOOOOO!!! if the Steelers grab him. :LOL:

Eichenberg scares me a bit with those short arms and it translating to Tackle in the NFL. I know everything else is beastly but not many Tackles get by with arms that short.

Been saying it for months. Trade up in the 2nd. ****, maybe even trade up in the 3rd as well but we definitely need one of the top C's since we realistically aren't getting a starting LT for this year. Humphrey could step in and start this year. He and Dickerson may be the only 2 but Dickerson comes with injury issues and probably only a five year window instead of a decade plus with Humphrey.

So we are saying there are Three starting capable Centre's in the second? Dickerson, Humphery and Meinerz? if there are three I would not sell too much to move up. I cannot see three centres going in one round. But if the price is right Dickerson has a first round grade minus the health concerns. I'd certainly give up like a 6th to move up and a few spots to get Humphery. I have no knowledge of Meinerz. I know they need inst-starter oline this round. For sure. If they get, I will say it was a successful draft.
 
Colbert said it was a deep draft at center. I think they'll be comfortable to sit and wait for a player to drop.

I tend to agree, but last night was sooooooo easy, because you could see about six picks ahead that they would either get the pick of Harris or Etienne or a damn good consolation prize if one went. If you get down to one guy I have zero problem giving up a 6th (which is pretty limited impact) to get one of the guys I want instead of reaching.
 
Creed was team captain. Tombert loves that stuff.

Meinerz worked out with the Watts. Meinerz would be my pick. Colbert did say that if they were split on a player they would opt (lol) for the player that didn't covid opt-out. Meinerz didn't have a choice. The program was shut down by the school.

Humphrey checks every box. Team captain, three-year starter, terrific athletic measurables. Just need him to fall.
 
I would think pouncey at 6”4 315 could dunk but menierz or mayfield should be our next pick morrisey could slide to 4th along with trey hill uga

I love Hill. Man is a physical beast. He is obviously an option maybe in the 4th.
 
Interesting to read the thread now we drafted green C just about opposite to everyone’s opinion here… green is pretty old school pick looks like a guy coach Noll would have drafted lol undersized but very quick feet great leverage player.. the line looks to be going outside zone.. away from the bigger munch type power blockers we just drafted Dan Moore from Texas A&M LT … interesting…
