Free Agent Signings

You know we do what we do....low level free agents most years..

If and when we lose JuJu...
I would sign Fitzgerald for his leadership and mentoring of our young wr crew..
I think he would do wonders for Claypool, on and off the field..

I also would re-sign Fort to supplement the LB corps..

if I'm Juju, and as loyal to the Steelers as I claim, I take a decent contract for two years and cash in after that. He's not a dumbass. He knows the cap space doesnt allow much movement, and can see that we'll have a TON of space very, very soon. Be smart.

how you see that contract structured? thing is that only a 2 year contract doesn't allow the FO to lower the cap hit much in the first year, suppose a 24M contract for 2 years, 14M guaranteed, the first year cap hit would be about 8M, leaving 16M for the 2nd year. And that's a really friendly deal for the Steelers, seeing ahgolor getting 16M as well as corey davis.
Might he accept something like this? I would be thrilled if it happened

i have no idea, to be honest. i gave up trying to figure out how the NFL cap works and the idiots of the board ran off TMC.

JuJu needs to take all the money he can get. He was not a 1st rounder so he hasn’t made that much yet. I really feel that WR salaries will start to drop in the near future. Just look at how many quality WRs are entering the league every year. Doing mocks, there are quality WR available past round 4.

Most college are now 3 and 4 WR offenses and throwing a ton. These WRs come ready to play. I don’t see the need to pay a WR big money unless he’s a truly special playmaker. I think teams will start to realize this soon.

This is true. The Steelers also have a great track record drafting and developing WRs the last decade. How much of that is having a franchise QB? Probably some, but they've had some really dynamic WRs out of the draft. I like Juju and wish him well, but I think you almost have to let him walk.

Still pissed at the dummies who ran TMC off.

Well one of them is driving a luxury car............SPECIAL NOTE: My Luxury S10 is a pick-up

I agree on the letting him walk as much as I hate to see a very good player leave I think the $$$silver$$$ just isn't there plus the value of a compensation pick. We need a LT that can or is a starter right out of the gate and JuJu moneys might aid in getting that or some other key player.

And there goes Ola, joining Bud in Tennessee. We hardly knew ya, Ola. Good luck!

I'd have to think the QB made a large difference, other than Sanders, what other WR has been more successful after leaving?

They called him Ola here and at the cope-ahcabana, he didn't do much.. I wasn't a fan-ah. He sailed er drove to Tennessee- no doubt found a new buddy. One will try to be a star the other by seasons end will be tending barrrrr.

I'd have to look it up, but can't recall Ola making a single tackle or sack his entire time here. I'm sure he must have, maybe on ST's, but he was an extremely underwhelming player.

Oh ok. Ola Adeniyi had 22 total career tackles with us, 13 solo. 0 sacks, fumbles or int. That's over a three year span and 32 games he was active for.

Not sure anyone will notice he's gone.

appeared in 32 games, started 1; 22 total tackles, 13 solo, 9 assists; 0 sacks, 0 safeties, 3 FF

Sanders has had a great career. He overcame his drop issues, won a ring in Denver too.

Looks like JC is signing somewhere soon. At least that is how I am deciphering it.

this is what appears when I click on it

Seattle Seahawks are giving WR Tyler Lockett a four-year, $69.2 million contract extension, including $37M guaranteed, per source.
