They haven't extended Haden or Nelson yet? Haden has a 15 million hit and Nelson a 14 million hit, both in the final years of their contracts. They could lower those cap numbers this year by extending them.

I'm with you. There are several moves they can do including Tuitt and asking/telling Williams to take a pay cut that they can do to get cap space to sign someone to help plug a hole or keep their own. They will also need to make a move like that to sign their draft picks. Then again, maybe they are saving all their resources to push money forward for when they have to pay Watt ($25 million per), Minkah (guessing around $15 million per), then Bush and their future starting QB whether that is Rudolph or a FA (unless, of course, they draft someone next year).

I know right? Sitting on their hands which is totally baffling to me. Extend them and get Hilton signed is what the hell Im waiting on. Also, they could restructure DeCasto and Tuitt for a few million more.

And they just lost Alualu too. Not happy with the sitting on their hands ****. That is what Ben gets in his last season? SMH

Hilton to Bengals. Maybe they're trying to sign CB Jackson from Cincinnati and will release Haden if it happens. You know how much they liked him coming out of Houston.

Surprise there. They should have been able to keep him at a reasonable price. He played very well for us.

Have been thinking the same.. .reading the tea leaves, wouldn't shock me if Haden is let go.

Alualu signed for $6 million. We probably couldn't afford that for a backup. Buggs and the other dude that played at the end of last year need to step up.

Letting Haden go leaves a big hole and still a decent cap hit. They would need to sign Jackson to something that works for us and also extend Nelson to reduce his cap hit. Plus, we need Nelson since he would be our only proven starter left on the team.

alualu only played 43% of the snaps this season, if that's all they're going to use him, not point giving him 6 million. Hopefully Carlos Davis can step up at NT.

No question, I'd rather keep Nelson who's almost four years younger. Re work the contract and use Haden's savings (after cap hit). Allot depends on guaranteed money so Jackson could be made right even if his first year's salary is a bit soft.

Thought Haden slipped last year and he’s definitely well into the back nine of his career.

Just saw Alualu was $6 million over 2 years. $3 million per would have been as good as they could get. Not sure what their plans are.

Zach Banner is back, dude looks mighty determined to make a name for himself. Tomlin, Colbert & Rooney are showing plenty of faith in him. He should lock down one of the starting OT spots for a few years. Let's go!

Maybe he can actually hit someone on the other team on the field instead of a teammate on the sidelines

i'd trade Haden if that happens, we might get a 5th for him

they pushed bens money down the road. This is his last season. THey arent going to push more money . Colbert tieing up ends? I think they eye next season as "the rebuild".

Hypothesis

Damn, Vinny ;(

This team is being transformed before our very eyes....

I still put RB and OL as our top 2 needs but as of right now, they could draft just about any position in the 1st round. They have to be looking to sign at least 2 outside tier 2 FA's in the next couple weeks before the draft.

Maybe they tried and neither wanted to be extended

I am a little concerned though, not that I didn't want Banner back. I did. But the amount for a guy that missed a whole season. Seems a little risky.
