Report – Roethlisberger and Steelers to Meet Next Week

Lol at anyone who thinks Ben will play for less than the 19 million he is slated to get this year. He will extend but will grt every penny he is owed. He has never given the Steelers one penny of discount.

Time to move on just because of the $$ involved. Steelers need to rebuild. Their OL needs help, TE needs help, WR, CB, ILB, RB ... they push debt onto 2022, they are going to be royally screwed.

Further, with a rebuilt OL, new RB, remake of the WR corps, issues at CB, the team is going to be just okay WITH Ben. Not because of any issues with him, just because the team has a lot of holes.

$19 million isn't out of line for Roethlisberger. He'll play above that paygrade for 8-10 games if he returns and probably around or under that pay for 6-8 games.

19 million is a steal in todays market, Rivers made 25 million this year. My point was Ben will take every penny of the 19million, he will stretch it out over the next few years but those who think he will play for peanuts are kidding themselves.

$19mil over the next three years is 6.33mil per year, seems like that is quite a bit less.

The point I'm making is I'm in a wait and see but am confident BENN will make the right concessions that the front office dictates to him. I see NO reason why not as he said his pay is inconsequential and he will do what ever it takes.

People change, that's a gimme.

Thought Ben was supposed to meet with management this week. It's Friday night -- what happened?

Its not a penny less, it is all accounting tricks but in your scenario he still getting the entire 19 million THIS year and we still have more cap hits of 12.66 million over the next 2 years while he is retired. How is that people changing ?

Oh I agree with what you're saying. It was more that anyone who thinks he's taking less than that is a bit crazy since it's probably a little below market value for comparable QBs.
