Not many people have been given the opportunity to coach a guy of Ben Roethlisberger‘s caliber. The 2-time Super Bowl Champion has worked and played with some influential football minds who have had a positive impact on his career. Starting his career off under Hall of Fame head coach, Bill Cowher and has worked with […]

And thats one if the zillion reasons BA was a horrible choice at OC... tge stats pointed to using Ben like a manning or brady and we just stunted his development for years letting him bomb away in arians limited offense... another case of Tomlin and his staff living in their fears...

No accountability... under the much stricter Haley Ben grew more... sure BA taught him the fundamentals... Haley made him learn the game and the offense was great for several years... did Ben hate it, sure... did he do it... absolutely..

madinsomniac sums it up pretty well. Ariens is the one sitting up at the podium and can what ever he wants but "real" football fans know better.

BEN has grown a lot since the fling-it Bruce has been here. T*mmyb*y hasn't had that great of year so it's not like the Bruce has advanced him in ability.

I take the "Bruce's" comment for what they are, a coach who likes to hear himself talk on media day.

**** the Bruce as he nearly got BEN killed and career ending strategy. Everyone remembers the 1/2 hour to develope plays he use to call.

Here are the sacks taken by QBs when Arians was the OC or HC in the NFL:
Year Team Sacks (NFL rank in most sacks allowed)
2001 Cleveland: 51 (3rd)
2002 Cleveland: 35 (17th)
2003 Cleveland: 40 (12th)
2007 Pittsburgh: 47 (7th)
2008 Pittsburgh: 49 (4th)
2009 Pittsburgh: 50 (2nd)
2010 Pittsburgh: 43 (8th)
2011 Pittsburgh: 32 (9th)
2012 Indianapolis: 41 (10th)
2013 Arizona: 41 (18th)
2014 Arizona: 28 (26th)
2015 Arizona: 27 (28th)
2016 Arizona: 41 (7th)
2017 Arizona: 52 (3rd)
2019 Tampa Bay: 47(11th)
2020 Tampa Bay: 22 (29th)

Only 5 times in 16 years where an Arians' offense wasn't in the top half of the league in most sacks allowed. Nine times in the top 10.

The offense was always better when Ben had an OC he didn't like.

T*mmyb*y hasn't had that great of year

Huh? At 43 he threw for 4,633 yards, 66% completions and 40 TD which also happens to be the second highest total of his career. Did I mention that he’s 43? I hate the guy, but to say his year “wasn’t that great” is just head in the sand nonsense.

Evidently my P-E-R-C-E-P-T-I-O-N was off but I still stand by the Bruce isn't all what the Bruce Thinks he is.

PS That 43 don't mean much when he is never tested or test(s) ignored. Payton Manning dang neared got banned for life when an HGH got mailed to his wife's address or rumor of it. Chris Bozwell got to meet with sample agents upon getting off the plain from the 6 FG game in Kansas City just to name a couple.

SO WHY NOT t*mmyb*y ?

Crickets when it comes to t*mmyb*ys arm being stronger at 43 than at 33.

I haven't watched all of Tampa's games, but a handful, including the NFCCG, his arm isn't that strong at all, I've never seen anyone get so lucky in my life, he throws a 15-20 yard out and there's not much on it, the first one in the NFCCG should've been picked but the db dropped it. Then he's about to be hit, throws up a duck in the middle of the field, again the DB miss played it, and Godwin some how grabs it. He should've been picked 5 times in that NFCCG. Then the constant penalties in big games that go his way.
The Dee Ford offsides plays(that you can call on every play), where Brady threw a pick that would've ended the game and sent KC to the Super Bowl.
The horrible pass int called against Jax in the AFCCG in NE in the 4th qtr with NE losing, the ball was thrown down the sidelines, 10 yards out of bounds, the DB played it perfectly head turn watching the ball just angling the WR to the sideline. Flag comes out and it ends up being a 45 yard penalty.
Just to name a couple.
**** that guy!

he has worked with Hall Of Fame caliber players his coaching career such as Peyton Manning, Andrew Luck, Roethlisberger himself, and now of course, Tom Brady.

Nice resume

This is precisely why I despise his offense

I’ve said for years that it’s painfully obvious that these guys are literally living “a better life through chemistry.”

Genetics being a factor is a large part true. But it was when I stood next to Jamir Miller in 90s that I knew. It wasn’t possible for a man to be that big and that lean without help. Joey Porter same. And don’t kid yourself that the basic steroids are the only way for performance enhancement.

Personally, I don’t care they do. What irks me is/was the hypocrisy.

Take that pencil neck geek Mike Greenberg. If I ever met him, I would outright confront him on his soapbox regarding Sosa/McGuire. I knew as a college kid they were on the sauce—so how could he not as a professional? Either you’re a hypocrite or you’re stupid, which is it?

I’m convinced the NFL knows but wields so much power they get away with it.

I don't think his arm is stronger right now than it was 10 years ago. Doesn't look like it anyway. Brady has flaws, no doubt, I'm just saying that he had a pretty good season by anyone's standard. And we can talk about how he got lucky that DB's dropped passes and blah blah, but it happens to every QB every game and some more than others. I can't stand the guy, but he is the definition of success if not greatness.

As for the Bruce, if you can't win with that team in Tampa, you can't win. Offense is stacked, defense is pretty good. Hell, you SHOULD be in the SB with a team like that. A lot.

I anticipate KC will play very aggressively on defense. They will give up some plays but will either hit Brady or get interception opportunities. I don't take it as a swipe against Ben. They win a SB and got to another. That is where Ben was at the time. Its honest and I don't think it's a cut.

I don't recall Peyton Manning ever being "dang near banned for life" about that...matter of fact, i don't believe the NFL ever made a deal out of it at all, it was all media-driven, I could be mistaken, though. And I wouldn't necessarily say that Brady has a "stronger" arm, but he certainly hasn't turned into a noodle-arm like Brees has, or Manning did, at this point in his career. And how do you know that Brady isn't subjected to tests?

They usually announce the tests and you never hear anything with his name attached being tested. I presume it could still have taken place but I somehow thing it is improbable.

There is no way of knowing if Brady is tested or not that is just purely salty speculation. I don't recall hearing about many players being tested. Even if a player says he is tested who's to say if its true or not. Bradys arm does not look that strong and he didn't have major surgeries on his arm / shoulder like Brees or manning. Brady may or may not be on the juice, but its impossible to say. Some fighters just fall off the face of the earth while others go strong into their 40s.

It isn't salty at all his arm looked done in one season and revived the next. Maybe it is just hard work and eating right who knows. But every aspect of that team has cheated so I won't rule that out as a possibility based on past gates...

they announce piss tests? since when? yeah, they announce it if a player pisses hot, but otherwise, no they don't.

Bradys arm mystically improved in his mid thirties... there was ample talk one year that his arm was done ... he famously told reporters after he suddenly started having the best deep ball numbers of his career that his renewed arm strength was due to his diet and exercise routine ... which multiple doctors have called bunk on... the real TB 12 method is just designer steroids... guys just don’t get stronger in their late 30’s... he had a peashooter arm coming out of college and had to bulk it up just to play in the nfl... he didn’t magically get even more muscle mass at the end of his career without a chemical fix....

I refuse to believe that he could get away with juicing for two decades, given how strict the league has been on it throughout that time.

Brady did not have a weak arm in college. He just did not have a cannon. I don't think his arm has ever been elite throughout his career.

Also, sometimes players do get naturally stronger once they enter the league

TJ Watt has become noticably more explosive than he was in college. Is he chemically enhancing too?

Most assuredly he's on something in 2021.
