Steelers Promote Adrian Klemm to Offensive Line Coach

No I dont have any sources, but I'll stick by my position they are fools to promote within a bad area like OC and OL. There must be more qualified people out there to coach at one of the top 5 franchises in the NFL, the fact we got who we got falls on Tomlin[/QUOTE]

And if he succeeds, will that fall on Tomlin? Or, will it be "he succeeded because of the players"?

Be ye reminded...we had three (3) 30+ year old players on the OL - none of them played at the levels we were accustom to seeing them play (as a matter of fact they've all been sliding over the past two (2) seasons.

Fact: The OL needs to be REBUILT, with younger, fresher and talented players.

Ramon Foster likes the hire, says the guy is a high energy guy that gets the most out of players. Trai Essex also said that the assistant OL coach works alot with the rookies, so Dotson basically being our best OL late in the season is a positive sign.
Also, it's not like he's been here very long

Tomlins the head coach, it all falls on him good and bad. His success rate of coaches leaving here for a better position is atrocious, his post season results in the last 7 years with a hall of fame QB are atrocious. He has done a great job building a top 10 defense, but he will be judged by the overall success of the team and it has been mediocre at best the past 7 years

I'll take that as a yes to the question I asked. Sprinkled with the prerequisite amount of Tomlin angst. :)

Continues to be an uninspiring off season for coach changes. Yes give them all a chance but when they are not new to the system what change will they bring especially with Tomlin pulling the strings.

I wanted outside the organization on all new hires. Didn't happen and I will be hoping for huge success with whom they have choosen. Like I've said many times over, time will tell and I'm hoping for great tales.

I guess the standard remains the standard. All these internal hires. I guess no one on the outside views the job as ideal. 2021 is going to be a hard year, and Tomlin is not signed long term. Why work here when there are other jobs hiring? For those who work here, sure take the promotion.

Tomlin wants guys that KNOW he's in charge, that it's his way.

Everyone’s hope was bring in another Munchak but we have to settle for an unknown. Will reserve judgement until I see how things shape out on the field. To Sharrett’s defense and Klemm the Oline has been in decline the past couple years anyways and think it has less to do with a OL coach and more of the play of the players and play call on offense. Will also help in addressing the RB position in the off season.

I will also add Trai Essex tweeted this in regards to Klemm... “ The assistant OL coach often works closely with the rookies thru out the week while the OL coach gets the starters ready for the game. Dotson’s performance this year w/o training camp should give you confidence in Coach Klemm’s potential.”

I doubt Klemm had any influence into Sarret's direction and implementation of blocking schemes, personnel and techniques. I can't imagine Klemm telling Sarret and the OC their system is flawed and we need to do things my way. Having more college coaching experience than pro yet very familiar with professional football, his philosophy may be in line with what Canada has in mind. Good luck Coach Klemm.

I also was looking at some of the statistical data from UCLA. Last 3 out of 4 seasons the runner improved. The very last one him and June... looks like they did a nose dive. Bad season for whatever reason. So if you are into Meatloaf three out of four ain't bad.

If that’s the case he’s in charge, then he needs to take full responsibility for the season ending
collapse the last four years and if we fail in 2021 then he needs to be finally held accountable.

This team has underachieved now since 2011 with a lot of talent where we’ve seen OC’s and
other coaches come and go but there remains one constant, Tomlin.

Foster supports the hire. Says Klemm has his own philosophy and likes linemen to play with an edge. Maybe he'll bring some of that "Nasty" back to the OL. I know a guy like Chuks could use a coach who makes him play with a little bit of mean(er) streak.

Lets hope he can do a good job, this off season has been the most negative press this team has had in years. We started the season all grand and it came tumbling down. Now everyone is on Ben, he should call it quits, he cannot throw, he did not want to jump on the over head snap. does not want to QB sneak for a yard. Where does it all come from....we did not get this much talk after the season we had last year. Nothing the Steelers have done so far in the off season makes much sense, especially promoting from with in, next year will be the tell, will Tomlin be flushed out since these are the ones he choose to lead this team in coaching,

Uh oh, you'll be labeled a Ben lover now. ;)

We should know before to long what Rooney is thinking when it comes to Tomlin, this is usually when they extend their coaches, and right now this is really Tomlins last season under contract, 2022 is a team option.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news. But it's been on all the Steelers related news sites ... Rooney is thinking that it's time to extend Tomlin AND that he will be the HC for the foreseeable future.

Tomlin could go 0 and 16 in the next two season's and he wouldn't get fired. It is what it is.
