The 2021 NFL league year will get underway two months from now and by then the Pittsburgh Steelers will need to be salary cap compliant. While we still don’t know what the 2021 NFL salary cap number...

And so it begins............

Take out a second or maybe third mortgage so you can buying atv you don't need. This team will never learn. If you are doing this **** to just be competitive it isn't worth it. REBUILD.

This team is stubborn they think there is no rebuilding. I am not even sure they will take the approach when Ben hangs em up.

The FO has gotten us this far, including CMVLT's averaginity. we'll have to trust they can get us into cap compliance......somehow. I think patience is needed in order to see the end game.

Good Luck STEELERS !!!

Salute the nation

Cap is "supposed" to really go up after this coming season, so these shouldn't be that big of a deal moving forward. Instead of being pissed we're keeping them, we should be pissed that our lame *** scheme allows them to get doubled 24/7

Cap will only go up if ***** are in seats again. My guess is Demonrat run states, like PA, won't be at or even near full capacity even with everyone able to get a vaccine by then (some will refuse it). I'm still thinking the next cap is probably flat with a chance it could go up or down slightly. Either way, somehow we will be in cap hell as we always are.

If Steelers want a full stadium, they might have to mandate vaccine certification for entry. The bigger date is March 1 when Ben's roster bonus is due. If they pay it, he will be playing in 2021.
Won't be surprised if they extend in some form to reduce the 2021 cap hit.

The Steelers never really need to rebuild and they aren’t in that situation now either unless you think several seasons of bottom 10 football are in the horizon with upgrades at nearly every positional group are needed.

restructure Haden as well and Vince

redoing tuitt and cam is roughly 11m in cap next year. if pouncy retires that is 8m more. that is 19 mil of the 22 we over if cap is the 176 floor. I still believe it will be higher as it benefits nfl and nflpa to come to an agreement.

in 2022, our cap space opens way up as Ben's hit gone. he could extend and help next year's cap then retire in 22.

we are in rough shape now, but they will get through it. I can't imagine what teams like Philly will do.

Everyone seems to look at our Cap in a vacuum. Until we know what the Cap is we really can't judge and have to realize the ramifications league wide might change the whole free agency scenario and what players will cost to retain.

Rumor floating that the cap will be 180 which isn't a huge difference.

I don't think Haden can be restructured unless they extend him. He is probably going to be a cap casualty although I still think he is our best CB. They will end up overpaying to keep Nelson.

They're both in the final year of their contracts, Haden will probably be a casualty because his cap hit is a million dollars more and he turns 33 in April.

If you need a new starting QB and a new Head Coach to dream of winning a championship you are rebuilding my friend. Ben could maybe, maybe play two more seasons. And most would say he is done now. And the ****** head coach will be back next season. how are you not rebuilding. I agree they will not be truly rebuilding next season. They will be re fantasizing.

I strongly disagree with that. A roster devoid of talent needs to rebuild. The Steelers need to upgrade at several positions, not a rebuild.

There is no roster in the NFL devoid of talent. That is just ridiculous talk. But when you need a new coaching staff and a long term qb you are rebuilding I have no idea how you can put it any other way.
They need a new ****** coach. If anyone can't see that I don't know what you are looking at. 15 years of this ****** guy. After the experienced quality assistant coaches left basically nothing. They need a new coach and therefore a new QB.

Ok, I think the Steelers could use a change at coach, but I don't think you are grasping what a rebuild is.

Ok you view a rebuild as taking the house down to the studs and getting rid of everything even if it is really good like Watt. I don't agree. To me a re-load is like you need a running back and an oline addition or two. So let's just split the difference and say the Pittsburgh Steelers need a big ****** remodel. New coach, not enough time for the new coach to gel with Ben so you need a new QB.

Actually a new coach can come in and take a vet QB to the SB it isn't like it hasn't been done before. But we know our HC isn't going anywhere so...

I think I said it somewhere else Slash, I'd be down with the Steelers giving it another go with Ben if they would have fired Tomlin this year. Fresh eyes, new schemes. But at best that happens in 2022 now. I feel any good Ben does is nullified by the flim flam talker. Like I really can't imagine Ben playing better next season and it really wasn't even close to good enough to overcome the deficiencies.

cut and resign at a later date, we need a vet on the other side, I assume with cap hell SF is they will cut Sherman he could be a good short term solution. Sutton got beat badly in the Washington Buffalo and Clv game, that scares me if he is starting. I rather when we re sign Hilton move him outside and Sutton/Layne slot sure mike is short but he is feisty and is alexander of GB is a inch taller than mike so I think mike can play outside
