Remember when Mike Wallace was holding out for a better contract and AB emerged as low drama “good guy” who turned out to be a pain in the ***? It started benign enough with his TD celebrations, but soon got out of hand. I’m starting to get that same vibe from Juju. He was the Team First guy, then all of a sudden he’s got his social media presence and dancing on other team’s logos. Drawing unnecessary attention. Now he’s taking trash to opponents in the press prior to a playoff game. Just play the game. Let your talking be done in the team. So these guys never Lear? My image of his has definitely changed this year. [emoji35][emoji35][emoji35]

JuJu isn't helping his cause of being a team first type player. I will say he is VERY hard working and an excellent team mate from what I've read. I'm just in the boat of wishing these guys would shut the **** UP and play. Although JuJu isn't doing anything different than about 100+ other players are doing in the NFL I still would like every STEELERS player to be team first and NOT bait / egg / surmise he opponent.

FYI, Nameless Grey Faces is a Tomlinism that Heyward has also used this year to describe the opponents. It means it doesn't matter who we face, we have to do our job.

I just read the "article". I can't find anything in it that is remotely controversial...wtf?

AB from the beginning was AB. Ryan Clark said as much. The team just hid it well.

I wouldn't put him even in the rhelm of the AB in the last two years. That said considering what all went down there and Juju seeing it, you would think Tomlin could easily sit Juju down and have a heart to heart about what Juju wants to be.

That was a different context. Don’t try to use Tomlin using one of his Tomlinisn’s which he is known for as an excuse for a player to give the other team bulletin board material. Tomlin has never given any opponent anything but the most respect in any press conference he’s given.

AB wasn’t always AB either. He spiraled. If you remember, it started with TD celebrations,,that he said he was going to continue to do, despite their negative impact on the team. We all thought it was cute at first.

Yes but from reports about AB he was the end AB much earlier than anyone knew. They were able to keep it quiet.

It seems Ju Ju very easily gave up the dancing on logos once he was told to. With that said, he’s no AB on or off the field.

How is the context different? You going to **** on Heyward for saying the exact same quote this year? Or are you like the media, trying to create problems when there are none there?

A lot of you here are starting to create an AB/JuJu narrative, but they are as far apart as you can get for good human beings and servants to their communities.

What's incredible to me about the "Nameless Gray Faces" philosophy is how untrue it is. Every team you play has an outstanding player at some position, and average or below average guys at other positions. It is only common sense that you should try and game plan around an opponents' strengths and weaknesses. That applies at every level from 5-year olds to the NFL. Or at least it should.

As far as JuJu's comments here, the only thing that might concern me is when he said: “I think they’re still the same Browns teams I play every year.” "I" instead of "we" kind of bothers me.

Cam has earned the right to talk. Juju hasn’t done that yet. He needs to shut up and play. When he can put his resume up next to Cam’s he can talk.

If you can’t see the difference in context than I can’t help you. They were no where near the same statements.

It didn’t look like a slight, just a recognition of an opponent (a good one) and he posted it on his social media for the “brand”. What 90% of the players do in the last couple years. His seems harmless, unless the media misconstrues it (they never do that...)

As indicated above, AB was over the edge very earlier in his tenure. Big chip on his shoulder. Ryan Clark gave a indication of it when AB, after he got the contract Wallace declined, went off on Coach LeBeau during training camp for DBs hitting/tackling him. Screaming “he was the franchise!!, don’t touch me”. Coach Dad got in his face as well, and the two were separated by the players.

JuJu is about as close to that as the North Pole is to Antartica. He’s a 24 y/o kid. He is all business between the whistles, team first, just as happy when someone else scores than when he does. He doesn’t pout or slam coolers like AB did. But off the field he does what the youths of today do....video games and tiktok

All I’m saying is there is no need to post bulletin board material when your team has lost 4 out of the last 5 games. If he’d said this after the game, I’d probably have less problem with it.

Given this team (and Juju’s) history of not always performing when it’s all on the line, why would you make a statement like that. Shut up a d let your play do the talking.

I agree, there are good players you have to game plan for on all teams. This is a motivational phrase for the players you coach. If you are doing your job correctly, it shouldn't matter who you are going up against. That is the way it is used on this team following Tomlin and his press conferences.

I also agree that I can see the Browns are the same Brown's I play every year as being more of a slight, but you have to pull hard to really be upset by this IMHO.

If you're on the Browns, you're just trying to practice and stop this 2 week outbreak...

we bewg u jjuju just stfu n play if u score dance if we win do ur tiktok but wear a mask dont give if we win and we shall div opponent any bulletin material

I styand corrected in this manor.

I don't think what he said was over-the-top incendiary, but clearly, the Browns have been surging far more than the Steelers the last 5 weeks.

Maybe the Browns are the Browns he's always played, but the Steelers aint all that impressive right now. Until they actually win a playoff game, or even 2, they honestly can't say anything but "Damn! I'm glad to BE HERE!"

I love some good trash talk between division rivals before a game. Like seriously, it's a classic rivalry game and it's the playoffs. The Steelers-Ravens trash talk from the early 2000s made that rivalry so much better. Look at some of this stuff:

https://www.baltimoresun.com/news/bs-xpm-2001-12-13-0112130307-story.html

The all-time classic from Shannon Sharpe

"We beat those guys up physically," Burress told Pittsburgh reporters. "We know it. All we have to do is go down there and beat them up again this time and hopefully come out of there with a win."

"I'm not even going to talk about Plaxico," tight end Shannon Sharpe said. "I'm not even going to dignify what he said with a response. If [receiver] Hines Ward would have said that, as physical as he plays the game, OK, I could lend some credence to that. But 'Plexiglas'? No."

Bettis "Insults" Ray Lewis

The Ravens were also steaming over a statement by Pittsburgh running back Jerome Bettis. In the Nov. 26 edition of Sports Illustrated, Bettis compared Cincinnati linebacker Takeo Spikes to Lewis, saying, "Takeo is as good as Ray Lewis. He just doesn't have the supporting cast."

Lewis, the NFL's reigning Defensive Player of the Year, took that as a slap in the face.

"Jerome saying Takeo Spikes is better than me? Let's go find out," Lewis said. "They have to come here in three, four days regardless of what's coming out of their mouths. Tell him to tape that groin up and come see me at PSINet. And tell him not to run away from me."

"I think maybe he had a concussion when he said that," Sharpe said. "Takeo is a great player, but Takeo is a Chevy and Ray is a Bentley. Now which one would you rather have? Comparing Takeo Spikes to Ray Lewis is like comparing a homeless man to Bill Gates. That's like saying 'Dude, Where's my Car?' was just as good as 'Titanic'. At some point in time, you got to be realistic."

Ray Lewis Calls Steelers Defense One-Year Wonders

"Their defense is having a good year. I'm not even going to say great," Lewis said. "Hopefully, they're not one-year wonders. We've been there before. We've done this. We've been the top defense the last three years. If you all want to talk about stats, we got stats to back that up. There's no person on my first team or my second team that I would ever trade for one of their starters."

"That's good, because we wouldn't take none of their guys neither," Pittsburgh linebacker Joey Porter said. "I don't need none of their guys over here playing for us neither."

Lee Flowers Brings the Hammer

"They know what took place two months ago," Flowers said. "Look at the stats. We lost the game, that's obvious. But look at the stats and ask their trainer how many people were sitting in ice that week. It's time to stop talking. This is a big game. If they want to sit down and talk about it, let them talk. We're going to do our talking on the field."

https://archive.triblive.com/news/trash-talking-heats-up-before-sundays-steelers-ravens-game-2/

Jamie Sharper?

"If the Bus is smart, he won't play." - Jamie Sharper

"I don't think he's qualified to make that assessment," - Jerome Bettis

Lee Flowers Again

"Man, please," Flowers said, pausing. "I think those guys over there read too many of their own articles. Sometimes you got to play. News clippings don't win football games. Period. I don't care how much you talk about it or how much you put up bulletin-board material. That's not going to win a football game."

"It's funny sometimes to see some of the stuff that comes out of Baltimore, because every time we play them it's something different," Flowers said. "They were supposed to be a team that didn't lose in December. They lost in December. So now they're a new team in January. Well, you know, we'll see you at 12:30 on Sunday."

They've been surging far more than we have? They lost to the jets the week before us with a chance to secure their playoff spot.

They BARELY beat us with Mason at QB, no Haden, no Watt, no Heyward, no Edmunds, no Boswell...

And this nonsense that we lose 4 of the last 5, when we sat our starters the last game because it didn't matter to us (not towards you wig)

As for Juju, he has not changed since he came into the league. He's always had his video games, his TD celebrations, his social media presence. The quote wasn't even that bad. Some of you just can't to run him out of town. "We'll be fine with Johnson, Claypool, and Washington. We'll just draft another WR". Dude does the dirty work, over the middle, fights for extra yards, doesn't go down easy.. And with our dink and dunk offense, he still had 97 catches, 9 TD'S, and 48 first downs.

I'll take 10 Juju's over 1 AB, and AB WAS a generational type talent

His mouth has become bigger than he plays so yes. It is playoff time he should be working on his skills instead of his jaw muscles
