Gardner Minshew - thoughts?

Trade up for Lawerence? That will never happen, sorry. We are going to be drafting in the 20s again. He's going 1 or 2 overall.

I'd offer our 1-4 picks this year and #1 next year for him. I agree the Jag's aren't that stupid but why not try it. They ( Jags ) do have lots of draft picks. Lawrence could pull a I'm not paying for you or the Jags might not like him that much.

That would be idiotic. No player is worth that much and we have a lot of holes. If Trevor doesn't pan out we just handicapped the team several years.

first off, your proposal is ******* ignorant.
second, did you dismiss the level of talent Ben faced in the MAC conference?
third, TL is going 1 or 2.
fourth, TL is from Cartersville, GA. The only teams that are close to his hometown are Atlanta, Tennessee, New Orleans, Carolina and Jacksonville. Of those, Jax picks first overall. He'd have zero issue with going to a Florida city and being somewhat close to family while also being able to dip his wick in beach babes.

The only way he is NOT going to be a Jaguar is if Atlanta somehow pulls off a trade. The Falcons are currently picking 4th. Atlanta could offer their 1st and 2nd picks, which would FAR outweigh what we could offer. Would Atlanta do that? Would Jax even accept that? Who knows. But what we do know is you're proving over and over again that you suck at this.

1 ) Any franchise QB is worth that. They define a draft year. Brees, Rodgers, Mahomes, Wilson, Brady in his prime, etc..

2 ) He's likely the least bust proof of any QB I've ever seen.

3 ) We are toast without Ben and our chances fo getting a franchise QB outside the top 20 picks are very slim.

So why trade up to the best one in a decade? Trevor would be the #1 overall pick for the past ten years.

Are you telling me you do not think he's better than:

  • 2020: Joe Burrow.
  • 2019: Kyler Murray.
  • 2018: Baker Mayfield.
  • 2017: Myles Garrett.
  • 2016: Jared Goff.
  • 2015: Jameis Winston.
  • 2014: Jadeveon Clowney.
  • 2013: Eric Fisher.

Brady has 11 Interceptions. That doesn't really qualify as a lot especially when Winston threw 88 picks in 5 seasons and has never thrown less than 15 in a full season. There really is no statistical comparison between the two.

There is between Winston and Peyton Manning. Winston had less picks than Manning's first 6 years.

If we're grabbing a vet backup, I only want Winston. Show me another available QB with a 30TD season. I'll wait...

..

Wow., Now that is interesting..

If not for his retarded crab legs incident, i might look at him with a better attitude. I guess we all **** up at times.

we are not the Saints and don't employ Mike Ditka to make a crazy trade like that. That would severely handicap this team for one player and then piss off your current franchise QB, giving him no new resources for his successor. I really like TL, but would never do that. The Pats have a better chance of landing him than we do.

Any discussion of trading for Lawrence is a waste of time and energy. There is a zero percent chance it happens and if it did, the entire Jacksonville front office and coaching staff would be fired on the spot. The owner of the franchise would probably fire himself too if he could. Just fold the franchise if they took that deal you purposed and erase its entire history.

Cooch probably seen a whole 5 minutes of the guy and wants to mortgage the team to get him. Then presents a list asking questions. The answer is nobody knows how he will turn out but you damn sure don't give up your whole draft for one player. That just isn't a smart approach to drafting.

I don’t think Winston is bad, but that’s not the point. The comparison was two QB’s in Arians’ system. Tom Brady does not have “a lot” of interceptions in Arians’ system. Winston did. That was the point.

I’d rather go 0-16 to get Bens replacement. I don’t want to do just enough to pick 13th - 25th

Ben wasn't a top 10 pick, neither was AR, PH was 10th. My point is having the top pick doesn't necessarily result in a franchise. I think I would like the 7 to 10 range to pull the trigger. If one year they were close to where they could move up. I don't see this team tanking regardless.

One more game left. Tom could reach 15 on the year. :peep:

no way hes just a shorter landry jones just more mobile but cant make reeds, better off spending time on hodges or sign haskins for free on a 2 year min deal and let him learn under canada and if he can beat out Hodges then try to get the potential we saw him at Ohio ST.
this draft we have OL holes galore this OL is about as worn as the Dallas and Eagels OL. fresh bodies are neaded i wouldnt even bother resigning Firlier I plug dotson Banner and Chukes compete Banner starts at RT, and for 1 year i resign AV to like 4 mill.

**** no, not with a 10' stick. He is not an upgrade to anyone we have on the roster.

Just stop. He’s better than Landry Jones. By a mile. In 23 games, including 21 starts, the guy has a 93 rating, 63% completion percentage, 5,530 yards 37 TD and 11 INT. For the ******* Jaguars, a team so bereft of talent that the damn Jets have a better record. Jones, Hodges and Rudolph will never see those kinds of numbers.

I think Atlanta will go for Justin Fields. He's from Georgia and let's get real, Atlanta would LOVE to have a black QB. The next Vick. Vick was way more popular and marketable than Ryan ever was despite Ryan being much more successful.

If Field does go to Atlanta then Matt Ryan becomes interesting as a possible trade target as a bridge to the new QB.

Everyone feel Josh Rosen has been given a healthy chance and his career is lost.? Signed by the 49rs off the Bucs PRACTICE SQUAD

Rosen is on his 4th team now... he is still really young but has had some serious flags that scared people off... it also doesn’t help that his first two teams immediately sunk a 1st round pick into his position before he had any chance at improving

Of all the young qbs though Id say only haskens is lowercthan him on the potential refurb of his careers

Are you people kiddin' me? Minshew? Winston? I'd take Dalton or Flacco over that **** in a heartbeat.

I think a really good 2 or 3 year replacement QB would be Matt Stafford... but I'm afraid he's gotten too used to being a loser in Detroit

Our next Charlie Batch...I'll take it.

Flacco? Really?

Many dismiss Tomlin never having a losing season because he's had Roethlisberger at quarterback. Stafford has 4 above .500 records in 12 years. I know its about more than the QB, but he's been on teams with 5 last-place NFC North finishes and had six seasons with 6 or fewer wins. I'd rather sign a mid-level guy around $14 million or even better, a bargain basement veteran and use those cap dollars elsewhere on the team while trying to find a QB in the draft.
