Dear Ben, I apologize for my moment of weakness calling for you to be benched against the Colts. Please forgive me, sincerely a fan.

Meh just a game manager... overrated... big dummy... cant throw deep... not accurate like Bwady.... never gonna make the hall... takes too many sacks...

Or something like that

Ben like most here am convinced he injured his knee in that Dallas game. I think that's been a lot of his issues with not being able to step into his throws hence the short passing game and quick releases. The guy has pretty good stats after coming off major elbow surgery with over 3800 yards, 33 TDs to 10 Int's. Not too bad for an old QB after that surgery. The guy is injured and his OL has not played well this year and add into that the multiple injuries on that line. Big Al has had his worst season, Pouncey and DeCastro have not b played well, running game is the worst in years but to still post the numbers Ben has is amazing.

I was talking to a friend about Eli vs Ben Roethlisberger statistically.

Presumably none of us think in terms of Eli being a 1st ballot H.O.F. guy. However he also has 2 SB rings and he got MVP for at least one of them. Ben only just passed him in yards. The big difference I see is that Eli's completion and TD/Int ratio aren't as good as Ben's and in terms of a true H.O.F. career, it cannot be overstated that Ben has never had a losing season. And he's had to drag the dead weight of Mike Tomlin along for his entire career.

Ben only just passed Eli because Ben has played a lot less games than he has. Ben took a beating early in his career and was a real football player who wasn't afraid of contact. Eli on the other hand, played like a ***** and never got hurt. Ben should have 1 SB MVP, no way in hell Holmes would have won that MVP if it was pretty much any other QB.

Bottom line, Ben was and is a 10x better QB than Eli.

I don't disagree with any of that. I'm one of the bigger "Ben" supporters on the site.

I was simply pointing out that in some ways, numerically, Eli doesn't look so bad but I certainly would never think of him as a first ballot H.O.F. guy. However, I think it would be an epic snubbing to keep Ben out. That would be like saying "Aaron Rogers? Ya, he's preeeety good but not 1st round good."

Are there actually people who think Ben shouldn't be a 1st ballot HOF?

In his prime, Eli had an oline that regularly gave him nearly 5 seconds a pass... in bens prime he was running for his life after about two... sometimes less...

I listened to announcers praise Eli for his pose in the pocket for a play where he stood there like a lamppost for about seven seconds Then throwing the ball away

Meanwhile ben gets hit after one Mississippi and people would scream” throw tge ball away you big dummy”...

Some of those olines made this years version look like all pros across the board..

Ben was leading Eli & Rivers in every category before he missed 2019 season.

It was way more than one bad throw youngie. It was a series of ****** games. But that an injury could have contributed. My thinking at the time was if he is still nursing injury he needed to sit. But thankfully I was wrong.

You mean the one were he won his 2 Super Bowl. the one, when he was standing on the podium with the trophy above his head. looking out at his Oline saying, "Who's laughing now Oline". I will never forget him saying that.
