By: Sean McGeown, @seanpmcgeown SteelerNation.com Coming off their third consecutive loss, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback*Ben Roethlisberger*called for a players-only meeting: Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger says he called a players-only meeting, because it's a good time of the season for veterans to talk to young guys, not necessarily because of this 3-game skid. "I'm sure this whole […]

I get it, & I love Ben, but Ben you gotta do your talking on the field....

They aren't doing the talking on the field and that is the point of the confab. I am sure it is mostly a lemon session, but sometimes those are needed. Come together as a team and re-focus to get back to "talking on the field". If this gets the team back on the same page, great. If not, nothing lost.

Bring Greg Lloyd and James Harrison with you.

"yawn"

They've been floundering for weeks...buncha bullshit.

yes, they have been. And the vet leaders are trying to come together as a team and figure out a course correction. Not sure why that is a "bunch bullshit"; lemon sessions can be quite useful if done correctly. That said, it may not work, but it is a better attempt to correct things than any adjustment seen out of the coaching staff.

Agreed. Just calling "bullshit" because the confab should have been weeks ago.

"Guys, I have to play better. . . "

he's always fallen on the sword and given praise to his teammates while deflecting from himself.

i just hope he tore into some of these prima donna WRs and a certain TE who continue to **** around. and the OL who can't run block.

Are you speaking of James”I sleep through team meetings “ Harrison and Greg Lloyd of the 94 blitzburgh rap video and “standing over and counting out a knocked out player on the field” fame?
What do you want them to do? slap the cell phones out of their hands and shove guns in their mouths?

Mabry he got everyone a case of Stickum for Christmas.

I read on Steelers.com this meeting is something they do every year. It had nothing to do with the 3 game loss. https://www.steelers.com/news/ben-it-starts-with-me

"It had nothing to do with where we are in terms of losing three," said Roethlisberger. "I feel it's that time of year when it's prudent to have those kind of meetings where veteran guys can speak and talk to young guys on what to expect and get ready for moving forward.

At one time yes but now just has beens.;

REALITY is the vets will do a better job of making it known what needs to be done but the COACHING / preparation / adjustments / etc. will speak the loudest.

Salute the nation

Well we have a collapse every year.

And what are the veterans saying to the younger players? "this is the time of year where we usually miss the playoffs, or get eliminated in the first round, So we usually go on early vacations and snub the Pro Bowl."

Hey peeps! This was not a true "players-only meeting". It was some of the O and no D players. It's good they had it because I think they realize they are letting the D down. Even with major injuries, the D is still mostly getting it done but they are getting frustrated. Hopefully, we have no more drops and Ben's 1st half was an aberration.
