Go to the .22 mark.

Ju ju in trips left. Watch him release under the other 2 receivers.

Watch Claypools man drop Claypool like a Leper with covid..

Watch that Safety come down from up top, seeing it all the way.

You think the bungles didnt know this was coming?

It's been this way for weeks. The Steelers are a one-dimensional offense within a one-dimensional offense. I believe someone on ESPN called this a half-dimensional offense. It's the perfect description. Defenses know the short pass is coming and don't have to worry about anything else. It's incredibly easy for them to defend and they are just eating it up right now.

Ben is clearly not progressing on his reads. He's locking down on his primary receiver for that play and more often than not NOT looking away. Or not working his way back after looking off. It's so obvious. Watch most offensive plays from last night. Just watching and watching then throwing.

Remember when he was getting rid of the ball in 2 seconds? Glory days.

Fact is, if Ben is focused on getting the ball out in 2 seconds, there IS no 2nd read.

And every team in the league knows this.

It's a one-dimensional offense because Ben is limited.

I think that makes it half dimensional. 2 dimensional would mean running and passing. 1D would be running or passing solely. We cant run and only half (at best) competent in passing. There are many factors involved. The Oline stinks and Ben is trying not to get killed. When he does have time he doesnt seem to know how to act and panics. Ben also doesnt seem right physically. He can do well in spurts, but cant sustain it. Then you have coaching who dont seem to game plan and we see the same stuff over and over. If fans know what is coming you know opposing defenses do as well. Of course the headman takes some blame for not realizing / adjusting / acknowledging the problems.

OC Randy Fitchner wouldn't have a job at any other of the 31 teams in the NFL. BEN didn't drop of the turnip truck yesterday, he played some of his best football earlier in the season. You know, back when we actually ran the ball a little......... Chase Claypool put up 4 TDs in one game and who do you think was throwing them.......

BEN hasn't just suddenly forgot how to read a Defense and look for open WRs but when there is nothing but a short-pass attach that has NO chance of a run and the shittiest play-calling I have ever ever ever seen, well you can see what you get.

Salute the nation

ONE demensional 9 in the box all out short pass defense makes it easy to quelch Randy Fitchner's offense. 4th graders can predict plays accurately (a friend of mines two sons and their friends all 4th graders)

And this is because of our O-line. Why else would it be? It’s also in part due to the fact that we don’t run enough to make play action believable. Last night, there was some play action attempts where Ben had all day to throw. If the run can do anything, it can get Ben more time to throw on some plays. But our line is soft. Big Al was man handled last night. Munchak’s departure is still being felt.

And some of out plays are just stupid. I noticed one play where all three WRs ran intermediate routes and they were all within the same middle third of the field.

There was a player open down the middle just as fast.

Probably may get myself in trouble for saying this but I kind of liked him getting popped. He deserved it.

Remember when Ben had longer than 2 seconds to get rid of the ball without defenders right in his face?

He was hit 9 times last night with 1 sack. Ton of pressures. This OL is absolute garbage.

Well you two battle it out. Bad read by ben? Or One dimensional offense. Im going with the latter.

Benny Snell averaged a healthy 6+ yards per carry, behind what some have called an abysmal run-blocking OL. Time to look at this a little more objectively perhaps. I'm probably one of the bigger Ben homers there is, but that first half was the worst half of football I've ever seen him play.

And speaking of Benny Snell, there ain't a goddamn thing wrong with him. He may not be the fastest, but neither was Jerome Bettis (and I'm not comparing him to Jerome Bettis, only talking about the speed).

He always falls forward looking for that extra yard or two, gets skinny in the hole when he needs to, and has good vision. They start to incorporate a fullback, a little I formation and getting our OL back to opening a few holes every now and then, and you've got (at the very least) a competent running game.

Bettis had the quickest feet of any back ever his size and had better speed than Snell. Snell is an average NFL back whose greatest attribute is he is both hard running and always takes what the defense gives him instead of going east and west, etc. A better fit for a poor run blocking team than the erratic dancing Conner.

Agreed Bettis had the quickest feet for a big RB perhaps ever. But he wasn't faster than what Benny Snell is. It ain't much of a difference at all, but Bettis was clocked at 4.7 in the 40 while Snell was clocked at 4.65. And again, I'm not comparing the two as complete RBs, obviously.

But if Benny Snell can have a game like he did with our abysmal run-blocking OL, all is not completely lost. That's all I'm saying. I know we could use an upgrade at running back. That wasn't the point of my post though.

Steelworth, I think ben is a bit old but fine. My OP points at the offensive scheme.

I agree the scheme is terrible. It has been for several weeks. All I'm saying is Ben was so off that first half, I couldn't believe my eyes. Like I mentioned, I love Ben and know it's going to be a sad day when he hangs 'em up. But blame can be put on both is all I'm saying.
