Just spent about 45 minutes starting a thread and it got lost and I was put back into log in. So I will strip it down to this. I do not believe the Steelers can or will fix the run game at this point. so they might as well embrace what they are, but that would require this:

1. 4 best pass catchers and best pass catching/ pass pro back is on the field.
2. No wasted feeling out first quarter running under centre with huddles. Tempo tempo tempo. Attack attack. Ben calls plays with advice from Fichtner and Canada in the booth.
3. Run game is draws, jet sweeps. pistol sidecar toss. More importantly quick throws to back for 3-4 yards on first down.
4. Take shots from the 15-20. Avoid the 5 and in. If you are there continue in spread and run if the defensive alignment allows. More importantly, rub, picks and pivots from receivers.
5. Play very aggressive on defense..

I like the up tempo mindset. I think when they do that they play their best football. No horizontal passes, attack in the 10 to 20 yard range. Let Smallwood get some change of pace reps. Keep a T in over McDonald. I want to see a better push from the O-line............

It would be nice to see some kind of creativity. Even a trick play here and there would help keep defenses honest. Every team has some form of trickery in their offense but us.

Our offense is so bland and it is the same thing week in and week out. All fingers point to Fichtner for this.

Solid points. The Steelers scored 19, 17 and 15 points in our last there games.

1. I would limit Ebron and Johnson. Two weaklings who make it harder to run the ball and simply drop too many

2. Go with Ju-Ju, Claypool and Washington, all of who can block and don't drop it as often and give McDonald a try as the TE. He can be the extra blocker for passing plays.

3. Take time outs away from Tomlin, he's just awful in this department.

4. Let Ben call his own plays more often. And go no huddle at least once a game.

5. Try screens and play action. McCloud might be the best man with the ball in his hands for these type of plays.

Typically it will auto save a draft, if you get kicked out. You just have to create another thread/post and it will give you the option to use the draft.

Definitely go up tempo to catch the miss matches that may be there. Ben should really take advantage when he see’s a spread with one man uncovered. Go to a quick snap, etc. it’s happened during the last couple games he’s had a WR or RB wide open on either far side with no coverage, but he waits until a defensive player sprints out to cover him before the snap. I know he likes to see the coverage before and after his first cadence, but at least try to catch them sleeping once.

Always got to get that agenda in, don’t you OutCoached?

If you watched games you would know, Ben calls all his own plays in the Muddle Huddle and 2 min offense. Fichtner gives him options via headset while he’s motioning players where to go.

Adding to point 4:
We seem to have a serious aversion to the TE Seam route. Put in Vance and let him take a couple of those just behind the LB.
Add a few 7-10 yard slants.
Add a cross route or two behind the LB's.

We don't force teams to honor the intermediate routes because we don't seem to throw them very often. That said, just a gut observation. I need to jump over to see if advanced stats supports that.

And to clarify a point. Despite his size, DJ is a willing and effective blocker. Also if you're getting the ball out in 2 sec, he has to be on the field, since he gets more separation on his breaks than just about any WR in the league.
