Wow, I see the bandwagon got really light with our first loss

Horrible coaching.. throwing to mcfarland on 4th down.. with game on the line? really? Damn what’s depressing is we have the talent and if the coaches and the Rooney’s don’t get their heads out of their ***** we going to leave another championship sitting on the field. Throwing for 50 passes a game is a sure ticket home early from the playoffs. ‘Playoffs!@#!??? Who’s talking playoffs!@#@!??? Playoffs!?!? Don’t talk about playoffs!!! Playoffs?!!?’

I was thinking that it would be much better to not be undefeated. If they were undefeated then they have to play hard each week to keep the record. They could get burned out.

What about the BYE week for the 1 seed? Sure you want the bye but there's a good chance that the steelers will have a comfortable lead for the 2 seed which means they can rest their starters for week 17 and give themselves a bye week.

Good point as long as we can lock up at least the #2 seed we can more/less get a bye week. I also think the loss will take a lot of pressure off. Maybe guys were pressing too hard which led to drops.

Even with DJ's 2 early drops, you take him out of the game, and this team can't move the football consistently. I understand benching him after the first 2 series, but as soon as we score a TD, put him back in. We waited until midway through the 3rd to prove a point. By that time, we're down by 2 scores.

You have to live with his drops because he's the Steelers best weapon on offense.

That's bullshit, Cope. The Steelers haven't moved the ball consistently for 3 weeks now, whether DJ has been on the field dropping passes, or not. They couldn't score touchdowns against half of Baltimore's second string, a team that just gave up 42 points to Cleveland tonight.

When you take away the only player that gets open on nearly every cut on a short passing attack offense, you hamstring your ability to move the football.

If you want to get into another discussion on how defenses play us differently than other teams, I am open to that, but we don't run the same offense as the Browns, so the points they put up is not an equal comparison to the way the Ravens played them. Besides, we didn't need 40 points to beat the ravens, we only needed 19, and the Browns scored 40 and still couldn't win so...

When said player gets open but continues to drop passes, it also hamstrings the ability to move the football.

So even though the Steelers moved the ball inadequately against a Baltimore defense missing several key starters, it's inconsequential because they didn't need more points to win? What?

Did the offense need more points against Washington?

technically the offense did not score enough against Baltimore. The D had a pick 6

First time or second time?

Topseed, you're getting it. Every game is different and has to be played in that context. Some games are more defensive and eat the clock, others are trying to score as much as you can. DJ wasn't seated in the Balt game, and we needed all 8 of his catches to keep the sticks moving.

While true, there was definitely 2 TD's dropped in that game, and a 3rd where the WR might have been able to run it in. WR's catch the ball, that game wasn't close.

Second game against Baltimore. The offense scored 13 points that day, when DJ played 90% of the snaps. Then they scored 17 against Washington, when he played 80% of the snaps. Then they scored 15 against Buffalo, when he played 49% of the snaps.

Which brings me back to my original point that this team hasn't moved the ball consistently for three games now, with or without Johnson. Not sure how you can even try to refute that, it's plain as day, and borne out by the numbers.

And the Steelers also could have used a 9th catch from Johnson which would have iced that Ravens game, but he dropped another perfect pass right in his hands with three minutes left, subsequently allowing Baltimore to score 7 more points and make it close at the end. That drop didn't move the sticks, did it?

I truely wonder how much they are devoting to the JUGGs machine. 1/2 hr a day,.........more / less................. I feel it's a combination of both the to short yardage passes and the play calling to force YAC into the equation.

BEN can throw longer than 5yards in one throw and why NOT ? Don't give me the BS offensive line crap. AV / Decastro ? Pouncy / ? / Okorafor. One question-Mark. Who is calling the plays, who is NOT setting up screens / play action / etc.

As ****** as the bungles are, watch their OC and tell me he isn't calling a better game than our OC.

I've been calling for Randy's head for quite awhile now and reaLIZE NOTHING WILL HAPPEN THIS SEASON BUT, Fichtner's offensive play scheme is proven ******.
