This loss is on TOMLIN

Even with Conner, we have little to no running game. We needed to address RB depth before the season (when everyone here thought it wasn’t necessary). McFarland stops halfway through a run if he sees a defender and Snell just doesn’t have enough speed or strength to excel at the position. A good running back finds a way to maneuver the ball across the goal line. Run blocking is also an issue as is the fact that our receivers can’t hold on to the ball. The way it looks to me, they overperformed in the first half of the season. We will be lucky to go 2 and 2 to finish at 13-3.

This offense could have prime Adrian Peterson, Barry Sanders, and Walter Payton and they still wouldn't get the job done on the ground because the OL is bad.

3 of Ints were hail Mary types in the endzone

I thought 1 hail mary at the end of the first half whatever game that was. Might have been another one. Pretty sure 4 or 5 come off of tips. He's at 7 now. One might have been Ebron deflecting it. I think there was 3 in that game alone.

Nobody wants to admit the QB is a problem, though really no fault of his own, and I think other teams are figuring it out. Give Ben credit for playing as well as he has and getting them to 11-1. But he can't throw that sideline deep route right now, so that is taking away an important part of the offense. He is doing some weird sidearm, flick of the ball on those routes and they are floating out of bounds. The deeper throws just aren't there, teams know it now and are sitting. The colder weather is gonna make it worse.

I wish there was a competent backup to give him a week or two rest. That arm isn't all there right now.

Riverboat Ron ran laps around Tomlin the 2nd half. He outcoached and out schemed. How many times did Mckissic catch a wide open pass for 8-10 yards? Absolutely no adjustment til it was too late.

Tomlin doesn't know his X's and O's, never did and never will. He's a motivator but that stuff runs it's course.

What?!? Ben put the ball on the money to Claypool at the end, good defensive play, hit Ebron at the end. He can still make all the throws. This might be the dumbest take I've seen yet, and coach made this thread so that's saying something...

Ben's more limited than he has been in the past, but you got him throwing a dime on that pass to McFarland at the end and the rookie ran a bad route. Over the past two weeks with over 100 passes--which is absurd--he should have a completion percentage of over 80 percent if not for the 14 dropped passes. That is without any semblance of a running game.

For the love...I'm not ripping Ben. Stop being so emotional. The sideline throws, the ones he used to make regularly aren't there. For anyone to say different is just wrong. It is weird, because he does rip a throw here and there. But until he hits those, or some deep down the middle, this is what we are going to get.

yeah that play was bullshit

The Steelers earned another chance at zero points when in scoring range at the end of half, instead the Redfucks were given an EXTRA time out to kick a FG at the EOH. This is absolutely unforgivable. it's a delay of game at worst, 10sec runoff, clock expires on its own at best.

Disagree completely. Some of Bens throws are as good as anyone can throw them. His arm is not the problem- unless you count he’s throwing it 50 times per game-not sure whom to blame for that, but it’s the only thing currently moderately successful.

Ben constantly puts the ball where Claypool can catch it. He either makes the catch, drops the catch, or has a guy tackle him as he trying to catch. Our other deep threat doesn't see the field much anymore, and it's sad. Because every time they've called his number, he's stepped up. Washington again showed why he needs more snaps. And I absolutely have no issues taking either Claypool or Johnson off the field to give Washington more.

Johnson made a great play on 3rd and 12, a 17 yard gain. The very next pay he drops an easy pass.

Ebron has big play written all over him, but he drops too many. Vance has his share of big plays with us, not sure why he's not getting more chances.

Any concern over Bens arm should've been gone after that TD to JuJu last week, out route in the endzone, defender right there, that ball had to be and was on a rope

Ebron seems like a few power hitters in baseball. Once in a while they hit a piss rocket, but more often they pop fly out. My son and I were talking about getting Vance in the other night. He isn't flashy, but he catches the ball, runs people over, and he can block in the run game better.

Tomlin is a fraud. And the media is just infatuated with him. Never any adjustments whatsoever and just hopes things get sort out during the game. The play calling is atrocious. He still makes same mistakes. Stubborn and arrogant. He may be a motivator but his situational footballs skills along with his Xs and Os are piss poor. The run game started sucking as soon as munchak left. He was our only true coach

Flame this post if you like but this is a typical Tomlin coached team. Days of players making stupid comments about opponents and tons of players making group tiktok videos instead of focusing on catching balls.

Honestly, you have the option of putting Wash and Clay on the edges with DJ and JuJu in the slots. I haven't seen this at all this year, and for the life of me, I don't understand why not. This is the optimal mismatch WR lineup.

Any comments on tomlin’s end of the game clock management... or is that outside the agenda for tonight?

I'll comment on it -- I totally disagreed with Moose Johnston's assessment that Tomlin's use of timeouts was such a "nice job."

First of all, if you're going to start calling timeouts before the 2-minute warning, call one after Sims makes the catch on the 27 with over 3 minutes left. Instead, he allows them to roll 40 seconds off, run it, and he then calls for time on 2nd-and-8 at the 2:17 mark. At that point, you have to sacrifice those 17 seconds in order to maintain 3 timeouts. You have to wait and see what the artists formerly known as the Redskins do on 2nd and 3rd down, because if they happen to get the first down subsequently, you can still preserve most of the two minutes if you stop them on the next set of downs. The two plays Washington ended up running were both passes, one of which was incomplete, and took only ten seconds of the clock. The field goal took three seconds.

So had Tomlin let it run to the 2-minute warning first, they would have had 1:47 on the clock and TWO timeouts left. That would have given Ben close to a minute on the final drive, instead of just a few seconds.

Tomlin had had a pretty good season with clock management...until today.

You missed the graphic of him as one of the winningest coaches in NFL history, but yeah the media is just infatuated with him. Anyone can win in the NFL. smh

#7 has had just a little bit to do with his success I’d say. If cowher would have kept coaching with Ben, I bet he would have even better record and more SBs.

Cowher would have gotten a lot more out of the defense without needing 1st round talent at every position.

Lotta folks coming out of the woodwork to post after this game. Seems like maybe they've been waiting, dare I say hoping, for a loss so they could *****, moan, complain and dig up old complaints.

Funny thing, with all this virus crap, the Steelers have given us 11 out of 12 weeks of winning. It ain't been pretty. There are definitely things they better get solved quickly (looking at you Fitchner and Sarrett). But, they've won. Without the true bye that every other team has had. Through multiple schedule changes that have inconvenience them. They've won.

I want better from them. I want better for them (especially for Ben). And I'm hoping they dig deep, figure it out and come out fighting like the champions they have the talent to be.

The frustration isn't that they lost. A perfect season simply isn't possible in the modern era.
The frustration is that they clearly peaked against the Browns and have been declining steadily since.
They clearly don't have anything left in the tank and there will be no weeks off the rest of their season, however long that is.

Spot on. I knew we were in real trouble when his eyes become bloodshot with tears.

A lot of liquored up folks venting their frustrations over an 11-1 team. Classic Yinzers man. lol

Amen. My thoughts as well. Here’s the reality and I don’t care if you get it our not.

We had a game where the defense didn’t force a turnover and what happened?

A 4-7 team beat us in our house. Tomlin says he doesn’t live in his fears. Bull crap. He didn’t trust his kicker gambled twice.

Also I don’t ever want to see a pass to Hawkins again.
