If you have a kicker on your roster you need to attempt that field goal at the end. It should be within range of an NFL kicker.
That was living in his fears.

If a kicker can’t make a 45 TD. FG, they should not be on your roster.

Mike Tomlin said he appreciated Matthew Wright's efforts tonight, but he said he didn't want to put him in that situation of kicking a 45-yard field goal midway thru the fourth quarter. I know a lot will say Ben made a bad throw on the play, but typically on that route you see receivers drift to the outside to create separation from the guy in coverage. Just looked like an inexperienced route from an inexperienced player.

and probably the reason you shouldn't be throwing to a guy who has 5 catches on the season on 4th and 1 with the game on the line....but that's just me.
It was thrown to the outside shoulder so it couldn’t get picked. 26 has to get separation to the outside and know where the ball is going to be. Having 26 as our target in that situation is ******* stupid.

You have kickers nowadays that can kick beyond 60 yards. If your scared of letting the guy kick a 45 yarder what's the point. Shouldn't even be playing.
Hate to put any blame on Watt but if he just falls on the loose ball instead of trying to pick it up things might be different. The offense was so garbage I am not sure it would have made a difference. **** load of tipped balls this year do to throwing 3-4 yard passes.
Doesn't matter. The fact that this team cannot throw the ball for more than 3 yards is going to destroy them going forward. **** even the Tim Tebow juggernaut Broncos would throw the ******* ball downfield.
Easy for the defenders to get in lanes on these passes. They know he's getting rid of it so they get their hands up. Ben also may have changed his deliver after the surgery.

what a shock that this is the first thread posted
4 or 5 of his 6 turnovers were tipped.
78-1-1 when up by 14 points at half in Heinz. Enter Mike Tomlin. He still has no clue on how to use time outs. Dude calls one to save 10 seconds. Boy we could have used it at the end.
This is the time of year when a return to mediocrity can happen. The Steelers have been living dangerously for too many games. Oh, we'll make the playoffs. We better win one there.
I blame the refs for stopping the clock at the end of the half when it's the Redskins job to bring the K ball on to the field, not the Refs. Should have been ZERO points at the end of the half again. Instead, the refs help out the Redskins by stopping the clock. Idiots...
