Once torn, the labral tissue in the hip cannot heal on its own. There are surgical procedures to remove or repair torn labral tissue; however, treatment for a labral tear often begins with a course of physical therapy.

It's a grade 1 so it's not that severe. It is not supposed to require surgery and can be managed. I'd expect him to get surgery after the season since this is supposed to be very minor.

I have a mild labrum tear. Full disclosure, I am NOT a professional athlete. I may be a pro-bowl caliber couch surfer though.

My labrum often doesn't bother me at all. No pain, no limitation. But when it's acting up. Shiiiiiiit. It hurts literally to pull my leg out of the car to stand up. I mean like sometimes I have to grab my leg with my left hand and lift it out so I can stand up.
