Just wondering why the vast majority of people (and a certain super genius in particular) accept it as some preordained certainty that Juju will not be resigned by the Steelers?
If he continues his current production this year he will have only 1yr out of his 4yr career with 1000+ yards and he's 2yrs removed from that. While definitely talented and a player I'd love to keep I view him as a good and dependable player but wouldn't even put him in the "first tier" WR group and certainly not in the "elite tier" but everyone acts like he's going to be getting Megatron in his prime type money and I just don't see it.
I look at it this way - barring the Steelers winning the superbowl (because we saw how crazy teams get when paying players from a superbowl winning team get....just remember what Washington gave Randel El) Juju shouldn't be commanding a price on the open market that the Steelers shouldn't be able to comfortably match.
Now there's always the chance some team loses it's mind and makes him a outrageous offer but realistically how does Juju argue for a huge contract in negotiations with another team?
GM for potential team: Juju we like you but we don't think you are elite tier talent. Since entering the league 4 yrs ago you've only cracked the 1000yrd mark once.
Juju: I also have a penchant for fumbling away playoff runs!
Again, love him but he's not the next Randy Moss or even Hines Ward and I don't know why everyone thinks there's just going to be a line a mile long of teams vying for him
with huge contracts and pricing him out of the Steeler's budget.
