Claypool drops at least one ball a game...usually one that would result in a big play.

how dare you question Claypool....everyone knows DJ is the weak link

or not, drops were a big issue today...hell this season. Claypool has had more than his share of bad drops also...

It's good to be able to look for things to improve when you're 11-0. Beats the hell out of doing the same thing with a losing record. ;)

If our receivers can’t catch the ball, we won’t get far in the playoffs. It’s the glaring deficiency of an otherwise all-around solid team.

Kid is soft. He needs to work on his focus.

He needs to look the ball in, he's worried about where he's going to run or who is going to hit him on most catches.

He needs to work on his balance too, his feet get the best of him more times than not. It was a problem coming out of college too.

We are sitting at home from the comfort of our living rooms...

Let's be real, in the NFL, you hear footsteps....The Ravens DB's are ready to crush you....All our wide outs were wary of getting popped...

So only Ravens db's hit hard? C'mon man. These receivers have been "popped" since high school. Every opponent has db's ready to crush our ball carriers. Yesterday was lack of focus across the board. The silver lining is that we lose this game in the past. Hell, in past seasons, we're 6-5 right now.

DJ is what he is, a great fit for this offense right now with a bit of the dropsies. He'll make difficult catches and drop the easy ones. But it doesn't help any of our wr's that Ben can't throw an accurate ball. That is scarier than DJ dropping catchable balls.

This is exactly it. He's too excited for the big play that he forgets to catch the ball. The plays will still be there once he brings it in.

DJ the way re runs reminds me a little bit of AB. He looks quick but doesn't have that little extra gear to run away from defenders. After the catch he starts hesitating where to run even if he has an open space. Yards after the catch could be better. Definitely needs work on his hands. No excuse not making that easy catch on 3rd down. Ben put it out as easy as you can and at a perfect spot. He didn't even come close to catching it.

People mentioned that drop by Chase in the end zone. That ball was tipped 6-10 inches from his chest. Sometimes you get lucky and are able to adjust and come up with it. That is a tough one to blame someone for not catching the ball. He has missed a few he should have come up with in games. The last game there was enough blame to go around to quite a few individuals.

I think yesterdays game performance will act as an incentive for Monday nights game, at least I hope so.

I just rewatched the game. DJ had 4 clutch 1st down catches. Plays only AB had made for us in the past. He did also have 3 drops and a fumble oob.

He has all the tools, he's just not making his breaks with his hands in the ready position. Chest height, thumbs in on his breaks.

I think you should tweet him that.

lots of drops by DJ, Claypool and Ebron tonight....

Um , DJ had three drops plus a fumble, the other players mentioned just one drop.

Less targets for DJ = Less drops and more yards for the Steelers.

Balanced out by Claypool either catches at least one big play a game, or draws a Pass Interference call ( Leads the NFL ). Sometimes we get both in one game.

Wrong yet again..

Ebron 2 drops
Claypool 2 drops.

Watch the games man...

DJ had 4 plays where he caught the ball short of the sticks and got us a 1st down. The only thing he needs to do to fix his game is have his hands in the ready position on his breaks.

Ebron had more than one as did Claypool.

On Johnson he has 7 fumbles in 26 games played. That is a lot. He's also only catching 60.6% of his targets this year. He should not be our most target player. I don't have data on dropped passes for the season, but it's probable Johnson is #1 on the list.

He had more fumble issues last season he has improved this year...Claypool has 3 fumbles of his own this year with only 1 lost .

Do you have a better source than this one, which says Claypool only had one drop?

Please list your source. Thanks.

Johnson gets some easy passes, yet he leads the team in drops. The worst of which if you saw the game was a pass that was easy and hit his hands. The only one who watch the games for sure that have proof is those who post in the game day thread right after something happens, which in case you were unaware I am a part of. So I'm watching.

I was talking about Johnson, not Claypool. " Johnson he has 7 fumbles in 26 games played. That is a lot. He's also only catching 60.6% of his targets this year. " This is correct. Do you have data on who leads the team in drops?

I watched the game and took notes. Try doing it sometime, it helps to open your mind to game strategy.

Though I gave Claypool a lesser drop on the one he was defended on. Still hit him in the hands, so he should have had it. The defender hit his body, not his arms, hands or ball.

of course you were talking about Johnson...claypool wasn't on the team last year. my point was DJ's fumble issues were worse last year and that Claypool hasn't exactly been excellent in ball security
