I think our current situation plays into our favor. I’m not nearly as concerned about the Ravens game as it appears many (especially on e media, and maybe some fans) are. It was a perfect storm of bad circumstances for everyone.

What works in our favor is we are 11-0, but get to play the underdog card even more than before. Tomlin was definitely sending a message to a team that was getting a little full of itself. We have something to prove. In many ways we’re in a better position than the Chiefs who are everyone’s darlings. Who is likely to get more complacent.

We have always played better when expectations aren’t as high. I like where we are as we head down the stretch. Would love to see a loss by is AND the Chiefs to relieve the pressure to be undefeated, but still give us an opportunity for home field advantage.

Am I wrong in that we could technically lose to the WFT and still maintain the inside track on the top seed? Here we go Steelers.

I’m not concerned cause if the guys caught a bunch of those dropped passes. Offense would’ve looked fine.
Ben put them in a good position to catch.

Pro athletes are creatures of habit. Playing a Wednesday game and the unknown in how to prep was at play.
We saw ugly football on both sides. The ravens players were dropping like flies and the Steelers players were dropping passes.
Overall, as long as the Steelers can prep accordingly for Washington they should be fine

I am concerned about our lack of ability to run the football in situational football downs. We have to be able to run the ball in some capacity to win games, and yes I know we are undefeated. I am concerned about the loss of an elite edge rusher and the MRI on Nelson's knee raised an alarm about our secondary.

We are better off at 11-0 with these issues than we would be with any number of losses.

I believe this is correct. the chiefs lost to the raiders so in the tie breaker situations the Steelers would still hold the #1 seed based on conference record

until the final drive against the ravens. I think that was the first time all season the Steelers ran the ball to close out the game, granted it was my millimeters for the final 1st down

I'm concerned by the lack of run and inability to put teams away. In the end I will be very happy with the season, but highly doubt it will end with confetti and Ben and Tomlin on the podium.

The Steelers haven't peaked yet. Still waiting for that string of dominant play. It will come this month as we move forward into playoff January....THE RIGHT TIME!!!

A "professional" describes one possessing a high level of expertise in his field. One would expect that a pass catcher who calls himself a professional at what he does would rarely drop a ball.

Imagine a surgeon or accountant always "dropping the ball".

Or an undertaker.

I became a fan during our glory years. I came to expect a SB championship every year. I’d be disappointed for days when we didn’t. Took me a while (decades), but I’ve now accepted that more times than not, that won’t be the case. Just have to enjoy the ride however long it last.

NOPE! (Bolded for effect)

Week 1 NYG 1:52 NYG 46 5 plays 15yds end in kneel down No time on clock convert a 4th down to ice game end on NYG 29yd line
Week 2 DEN 1:51 PIT 26 5 plays 67 yards No time on clock Kneel down to win in the red zone on DEN 6yd line
Week 3 HOU 4:47 PIT 31 11 Plays 62yds Kneeldown Win No time on clock 1st and goal at HOU 3 (in red Zone) before victory formation kneeldowns

That's all I tracked this year, I have to go back and finish.

did they run the ball to kill the clock in those games or use passes to get the first downs. If I remember right they ran the ball 3 times to get that final 1st down against the ratbirds

so against the Texans a big pass to claypool closed out the game

against the broncos, they did run the ball but a big run 59 yard run set them up in the redzone and they didn't need a final 1st down.

against the giants they ran it...but the 4th and 1 play was a claypool end around for the first to seal it....

yuppers. Thought we closed it out on the ground against JAX and CIN, but we were up big in those games so it didn't matter as much.

Lol. Good point

yeah should have spelled out "close" game....

but I was sort of correct in my initial post. Wednesday was the first time they ran strictly with the RB to get a big 1st down to close out the game

other than the bronco game, but the big 59 yard run set up killing the clock

If we lose to the What the ***** we maintain the tiebreaker over the chiefs... cause they lost to an afc team and we would have the one nfc team loss... it sort of affects the potential tiebreakers with Cleveland for tge division because they are a common opponent... but still its not much of a worry if tge Browns lose Sunday...
