Looks like he may be coming back...we'll see.

Weird. Hope this lights a fire under Highsmith.

I will believe this when I see it. How could he and Tomlin coexist after the way that **** went down. Even from a playing perspective he is 42 and didn't do much in his last year anywhere. I think he is trolling or someone should check Tomberts skulls.

I think the media might have blown that out of proportion, made it more than what it was.

Tomlin likes players that has familiarity with the scheme and the organization. If he is signed, it would be for depth and we can put him on the PS til he gets in football shape.

Everybody got jokes. Harrison left the Steelers because he wasn’t good enough to get on the field, the he went to NE and did what exactly? That was three years ago.

He’s a legend in his own mind at this point.

To be fair, he's one of the best OLB to ever wear black and gold.

we need the vet experience he knows the system cant hurt to have him back its eithier him Clay or Wake asa vet to push highsmith and OLA

No way you bring him back at this point. Will only slow down Alex Highsmith and his development. Let the rookie play and get him ready for the playoffs

If they bring back James, it wouldn't be to play over Highsmith. It would be spell TJ and Highsmith for a couple downs. The same way Highsmith was used when Bud was healthy.

I'm still on Harrison's side with the way things were handled. I'd welcome him back and see what he can do in a rotational role.

- He only decided to stay in Pittsburgh in 2017 because he was promised a starting role. He was nearing the end of his career and wanted to start rather than waste the year on the bench. Any true competitor would have wanted the same.
- Season started and they played him 4% of the snaps. After the first game where he got 3 snaps he asked to be released and every week thereafter his agent made calls to ask for his release.
- When he actually got to play against the Chiefs he showed he still had it with a game-sealing sack, a few hits, and a TFL.
- Right after he wins the game for us against KC they go back to benching him.
- After being promised a starting role and instead riding the bench, he repeatedly asked to be allowed to go somewhere so he could play. The team refused, so he acted out to try and force their hand.
- He's finally let go and gets picked up by NE where he has a shot to contribute. He immediately has a huge 2 sack game.
- He gets to play 91% of the snaps in the Super Bowl and has 2 of the team's 14 QB Hits (the team would finish with only 1 sack).
- Harrison retires and continues to rep Black and Gold despite the way things ended.

Y'all would have done the same if you were in his shoes. You want to whine and expect subservience and kowtowing loyalty to the organization that scapegoated Dick-*******-LeBeau and forced Troy-goddamned-Polamalu into retirement. Why does the organization get the benefit of the doubt in unfeeling, self-serving business decisions (and outright lies, like convincing him to come back so he could start), but one of the greatest players to suit up for us gets **** on for looking out for himself? It's honestly baffling how dick-sucky and obtuse some of you get when it comes to the organization making mistakes. Yes, the Steelers are one of the absolute best franchises in sports, but that does not make them infallible. They **** on Dick and Troy and they were too nice to put up a fight. James stuck up for himself and he's the ******* devil incarnate.

Edit: Had multiple tabs open and deleted this post because I thought for a second I put it in the wrong thread. But it was in the right thread to begin with.

I believe the Steelers were not honest with Harrison about his playing time and probably should have released him, but they wanted him for depth. He handled what happened very unprofessionally. I don't possibly see how he and Tomlin could coexist after all the **** that happened.
Zack
Its called a business. I don't expect Bud Dupree to play for one cent under his market value, but the Steelers can do what they want with their roster. now if you constantly lie to players that gets around. While there have been some bumps, the organization has a pretty good reputation with players.
