Our football universe has been completely turned upside down since our Steelers last played Nov 22nd.....it certainly didn't feel like a BYE week to me and I'm sure it didn't to our Steelers either. So they finally got this game in after being rescheduled 3 times. .....I can't imaging how difficult it was keeping this team focused throughout the past 6 days.....I've gotta give credit to Mike Tomlin and the coaching staff after a hard fought win against a very game Ravens team. First thing that will stick in my mind when I look back at this game was the dropped passes from our receivers throughout the entire game. I think Eric Ebron & Dionte Johnson both dropped 3 passes each and Claypool dropped 2, Juju dropped 1 all very catchable passes too. I hope our receivers got the **** game out of their system for the 2020 season because they can't perform like this in the playoffs or it's going to be a disappointing playoff season. Dionte Johson is going to give Steeler fans a Heart Attack he's so up an down from week to week.....I don't know if it's his catching ability or where he positions his hands before the catch that is causing all the dropped balls but it makes me nauseous when they throw the ball to him. The Defense looked good for the most part today but giving up that Big Play to Hollywood Brown when they game was all but over was really bad.....Edmunds just needs to wrap up Brown after he makes that catch to avoid BIG plays like that from occurring. I gotta give credit to JC Hassenhauer he held up pretty good today....did have a couple hiccups but nothing critical that cost our team today. Big All is having a great year protecting Ben's blind side. It needs to be said today I paid closer attention to Ben and I've got to say he's not seeing everything out there in front of him.....today he missed a wide open Derrick Watt in the endzone for an easy TD on our first scoring drive....as they settled for a FG to make it a 9-7 game. He also missed Benny Snell twice as he was wide open for a dump off pass and instead he forced a throw to Ebron who had a Defender draped all over him for 5 yds on a 3rd & 7 play...forcing a punt. He also ignored James Washington wide open down the right sideline and instead tossed it to Dionte Johnson on the same side....ball was a bit high but Johnson should have made that catch....instead it was another dropped pass. I've been saying for weeks they need to get James Washington more involved in the offense....he is a good receiver who is being overlooked. Ben had a bad game. Ben just didn't seem like he was seeing the field good today. I'll give RayRay McCloud a pass today on that muffed punt....seemed to me like the Defender was right in his grill.....I thought it should have been a penalty. I'm sure many Steeler fans will be saying...."Well maybe our team is not as good as we think"......all I gotta say to that is STFU.....it's the NFL every team is going to have a bad game at some point. This is a Championship caliber team, make no mistake about it. Don't look too much into this game. I'll take a bad win over a good loss any day of the week. Nice to see our Steelers go 11-0. And I'll say this.....Benny Snell seems like the type of RB who needs to get a dozen or so carries before he gets going. Snell has a couple key runs in the game late that helped put this one away to remain unbeaten. Next up the Washington Redskins.....our O-line is going to be challenged BIG TIME....I think Washington has the best D-line in Football. It's the battle for Comeback Player of the Year.....I hope this close game keeps Tomlin and our Steelers grounded.....we can't under-estimate this Washington team. Let's hope our Steelers don't catch Ratbird CoVid!

Per Tomlin's Post Game:
Bud Dupree - Knee injury that's being evaluated they will update the injury tomorrow. The initial diagnosis on Bud Dupree is a Torn ACL.....MRI tomorrow. He has possibly played his last game as a Steeler. This is a HUGE LOSS! James Harrison anyone? He's only 42 years old......but he still looks in pretty good shape.

Game Balls:
TJ Watt - 2 more sacks today & 3 TFL.....he should be in the running for DPoY
Minka Fitzpatrick - His play on the final play of the first half of the game to knock the ball out of Luke Wilson's hands to end the half was the difference in this football game
James Washington - One catch but it was HUGE.....He's gotta become more involved in the passing game....I've been saying it for week
Benny Snell - He had some good runs late in the game to help secure the win.
Joe Haden - Started the game off right with a nice pick six
Juju Smith Schuster - 8 rec 37yds 1 TD.....He's on this list because of the TD catch and a couple key 3rd down conversions

Game Goats:
Eric Ebron - When he's bad he's really bad......at least 3 drops today.....can't be a number #1 TE when you drop that many balls
Dionte Johnson - 3 or 4 drops today.....he reminded me of Dwight "And the Family" Stone today.....I'll admit it I'm starting to cringe when the ball gets throw at him.
Ben Roethlisberger - He wasn't seeing the field very well today.....missed a wide open Derrick Watt for a TD....Had Benny Snell open for big gains on several plays but threw elsewhere....also missed James Washington wide open for a TD instead forcing it to Dionte Johnson who dropped the ball forcing a punt
Terrell Edmunds - Just tackle the friggin receiver man! You make that tackle....this game is probably never even close

FU's:
FU to the Ratbirds and Ratbird CoVid. I hope none of our players catch Ratbird CoVid

You listened too much to Collinsworth. Ben didn't miss Watt on "the first read". Ben was looking right, by the time he made the progression, Watt was no longer open.

This is NOT Ben not seeing everything in front of him. This is what happens when you are a human being, in a helmet, looking at your first read, and not a wide lense camera allowing you to see all 22 people at one time.

There are progression reads a QB must go thru based on the play call. Certain players might be open, but if the first read is on the right side, and the player is open on the left, not one single NFL QB is going to hit the guy on the left.

Coach's observations:

On DJ Johnson he can make a hard catch and drop the easy ones. The Steelers target him way too much ( 13 times today ) , and he's not exactly getting yards. In fact those with less targets get more yards and covert on the more key plays. It's up to Ben to target the more reliable, faster, and stronger players. Johnson just isn't very reliable.

Other observations, we did not miss Pouncey at all, and his back up snaps better for the shot gun. Not saying his back up is better, just there was no noticeable drop off. Hassenauer passed his first test

#99 Henry Mondeaux is turning into a good reserve defensive lineman. While he's not starting material, the guys is smart and plays hard.

We did not miss James Conner at all. Did I see a screen play today? YES. See how well it works, Next game try play action, and I'll fall off my couch.

Spillane played another good game. Not missing Bush at all. He's very alert, and tackles well plus does not give up much in coverage.

I think we will miss Dupree. His back Alex Highsmith shows good effort but Won; make the type of splash plays Bud makes.

Claypool made some plays and drew another PI call, but he's starting to drop too many. Maybe the Ravens are really good at swiping the ball away.

The Steelers need to adjust better. RG3 rans basically the same play on them 3 times for lots of yardage, running right up the middle.

Coach, you didn't watch the game if you said we didn't miss Pouncey. Ben got killed on the first 3rd down because Hass let 2 guys run free up the A gap and blocked NO ONE! his snapping was good. His pass pro was below the bar significantly compared to Pouncey.
Cooch must have his agenda no matter how stupid he sounds.

The Steelers didn't have a good game but we won. I'm not happy with the inevitable national media beat down that will come. We all know why it's coming due to the poor Ravens overcoming insurmountable obstacles etc and so on.

But, the wide receivers etc will have some introspection as well the entire team. I think we're less vulnerable to a let down for next Monday's game, it's not going to be easy regardless of what some people believe. The Washington's defense is no joke. Hopefully the less than hoped for display today may give our team a bit of motivation and the hammering they'll get for today's performance against the poor poor Ravens.

Beat me to it. QB play was not the problem today; if half those drops are caught this was a three score game.

I'm not going to break it down. There is no way to sugar coat it. They were *** today. The only thing good was the W. It was barely deserved. Yes there were some individuals who didn't hurt the team. And they could be sifted out. But the reality is they sucked. The coaching sucked, the execution sucked. They had massive failure on offense, defense and special teams allowing a crippled team an opportunity to win. I completely agree with Tomlin. I am also extremely disappointed with Tuitt. He is usually a pretty smart guy. WTF was that. You have no way to be involved in the game just STFU. Let those who are in there do the talking on the field. He would have been one of the last guys I would have expected that from.

This was one of those “you have to find a way to win the bad games” we did that today...the win was good. The injuries are not.

Regroup and find a way to keep fighting

A. **** the Ravens
B. **** the League

Game balls:
Dupree for being a warrior the last two years
The rest of the defense for mostly mauling the Ravens
Benny Snell for running hard through A lot of bad blocking
Washington and Juju... yeah they had a couple drops... they also made huge game saving plays

Goats

The wr Corps and their stonehands

The oline and their confused blocking Also the oline coach

Fitchner for yet another flat offensive gamplan to start the game

Special teams... yeah they don’t always suck, but when they do they really screw the pooch

he only reads the game thread to see what is going on...he doesn't have time to watch a whole game

Dude. Pouncey has not been good all year. He’s getting old. His snaps are off and he’s given up his share. Plus flags. What games are you watching? Outside in one play his no name back up did fine.

Join the game day if you can. You will see me there.

That is your ****** assessment on Pouncey that nobody shares. Keep pushing your agendas like they are fact. It still doesn't make it so. Cope layed it out for you. I know you still don't grasp it. Sad for you.

I saw that. It was one play. Which other okay did he have issues on. If your example is an early play what does that really say?

When was the last time you saw Pouncey pull? Or root out a DT vs the run? Ben has the hands of a shortstop and needs it with Pouncey playing.

Look. A untested back up came in. Pouncey has been replaced before by Street level players. He’s very over rated at this point.

It says you are an idiot when it comes to assessing players.

Highsmith can fill in for Bud but who is behind him on either side? That is going to be a problem.

Another concern I have is watching the Rats outbreak and then to have Pouncey apparently test positive the day of the game, no contact tracing could have been done in time and the Rats were still testing positive up until 2 days before the game. I am praying we don't end up with a bunch more cases over the next week or two. We all know Rog won't give us the kid-glove treatment he just gave the Rats by pushing the game back so they could get players back.

Game ball for everyone....with all that went on this week ..... Steelers got no respect from Godel and his cronies ...we won

FU the officials for the call on us of roughing the passer and of course Collinsworth and Tired of hearing Tirico.bias coverage

Game Goat: Boz. Make your damn XPs man.

Thought Ben played a really good game despite all of the drops. Most of those throws were spot on.

Aside from Juju and the late Washington catch, the WRs were pretty booboo.

Someone on Twitter said the receivers weren't used to catching passes from Ben on Wednesday's, and it showed.

You kidding me right? He was comically bad on that play, and the Steelers had to cover for him the rest of the game, or did you not notice our RB blocking the extra man on the interior as opposed to the outside. Hass sucks at pass pro compared to Pouncey and it isn't even close.

If Judon was playing, he would have had 3 sacks with this much pass pro commitment to the interior.

The better quote was:

” those Steelers receivers were told to make sure they didn’t catch anything playing the plaguebirds and they took it literally “

Lol

I gotta say, I'm pretty happy for Washington
When his number is called he generally does alright.
Great concentration on that catch, was a thing of beauty
