Happy Thanksgiving to my favorite online family!!

Sure we don't all think the same way and may have political fights over the mashed potatoes, but we all love our undefeated Steelers and this season is special. OK, I've been drinking already... I've been sick for the past 5 days. Tested negative for Covid so it's probably bronchitis, but at least I'm up and feeling normal today! OK, enough Drunk Cope ramblings, on to my alcohol induced idea...

Next year we are losing Bud Dupree. He's the most expensive position to keep and would probably cost $20M+ to keep. I say we tag JuJu who will be around $15M, and do a tag and trade with Houston for JJ Watt. Work with the Watt brothers to see if they will take lower salaries to all play together as a family. JJ's at the end, wants a championship, and would love to do it with his brother. 5th year option TJ and bang they are locked up for 2 years.

What do you guys think? I'd like to move JJ to OLB opposite his brother, I think he'd do a very good job opposite of TJ in the rush and run D role. We might take a hit on the pass defense, but we can work to keep him moving forward.

So the trade would be JuJu for JJ and a 2nd rounder.

OK, back to drinking. Gobble Gobble boys and girls!!

JJ is not worth JuJu and a 2nd rounder....

My thought was you can't do it straight up due to years left in their career, would you do JuJu and a 1st?

And we are most likely losing JuJu next year as well unless we keep him on a franchise tag.

if JJ is not worth JuJu and a 2nd why would he be worth JuJu and a 1ast?

If you are giving up JuJu all I would throw in is a mid round pick....4th or 5th

A trade? Are you dressing up as cooch for Thanksgiving?

Kids this Thanksgiving watch your alcohol intake.

Sincerely,

you welcome.

Oops sorry, drunk me. I meant us getting a 2nd and JJ for JuJu I'll fix it...

Lets wait to see the cap situation... the reality remains that most contending teams wont have big money to sign long term giant deals with these guys.... the honest pitch to make is that they should take one year deals with the team they know, pad their stats, and leave in 2022 when teams will have full cap situations to work with......

I keep JuJu if at all possible. Highsmith looks like he will be ready to take over for Bud.

JJ will be a FA next year. Houston will not be paying him his contract next season. If he would like to play as a situational pass rusher with his brothers that would be pretty cool, but it would have to be right priced. He is not a three down outside linebacker in this system though.

Cope, as much as I would like to see the brothers together, notice that TJ and Derrick are hardly ever in the same game due to injury. Yes JJ has been prone to injury not but if we could get him and for less than JuJu, maybe Tag & Trade BUD (I know they may not want him). I just want us to keep JuJu as he is one of the face of the STEELERS to this point.

How much would JJ actually upgrade OLB position as opposed to down lineman ? I'm intrigued but need more detail.

Continue drinking, liquids of choice but 1 full glass water inbetween alcohol drinks. Carry On

Salute the nation

Alalu is a FA, what if Watt takes over at DT? JJ/Tuitt/Heyward as your front 3???? Wow...

And Sask, I like your point about JJ being a FA when the Texans cut him. That is a valid point and could happen.

I don't think JJ is an interior guy at all. I think he is still a monster at End, so in a sure passing situation he would be valuable there. Again the price would have to be really right. He is a 17 million dollar hit next year and nothing to cut. He will be a FA next season as he already said he doesn't want to be in a rebuild.

I don't think that JJ will be that expensive.

I actually prefer JJ at DE. I playing this scenario out in my mind pre-drinking.

I like it!!!

Cope, this was brought up by one of the staff writers regarding JuJu. I think Madden even commented this was a likely scenario. JuJu has a significant amount of marketing deals surrounding his eGaming followers platform, and he has trademarked Littsburgh as his official merchandizing catalog. He says all the right things, naturally, but he constantly praises Pittsburgh the city, and its fans. His Mom was a huge Steelers fan even before he was drafted and he’s hinted he’s “grown up” in Western PA. Tagging JuJu and working out a long term deal seems ideal. Bud has placed us outside his reach. Someone is going to over pay him significantly. Vegas for one. One of those talking heads even said Tennessee could take a run since they’ve lost Clowney (no surprise). There’s always a bit of skepticism because the agents throw disinformation all he time. But it’s been JuJu whose made comments, not his agent. And the fact Madden seems inclined JuJu would stay is amazing, since he’s kinda said he’s a fake persona.
