Coach, I say this with kindness and no malice whatsoever. In no circumstance, in any case are you better at evaluating talent than the Steelers staff. You aren't close. I didn't get excited about the Claypool pick. I figured he'd be fine, but not outstanding. He has had some splash plays, certainly but he has not been extraordinary. Does that make me the world's best talent evaluator?

No, it makes me a guy who can look back at any picks I "liked or disliked" and suit my responses accordingly.

As they say, hindsight is 20/20 and it's easy to word your "picks" such that you can come out looking good regardless. I mean hell. I'm a Gawd Dam psychic regarding Claypool. “Barely speak”. Again what are you implying? Do you have trouble understanding him due to his enunciation of words, his speech dialect or lack of colloquialism by use of informal slang? For the record, I am NOT racist. I think the term is grotesquely over-applied. I will say that I don't care at all about one's dialect, one's interest in colloquialism or informal slang. I don't care about one's cultural experience. If you live in a country, speak the ******* language fluently. That is all.

I have no statistics, or links to back this up. Only experience. Half of the U.S. born population, regardless of race, do not speak English properly on a regular basis. I include myself in this group. Proper English is too damn high falutin for this country boy.

I consider myself pretty intelligent. And I have always done well on standardized, multiple choice tests. I naturally think with reason and logic in almost everything I do (as long as I don't lose my cool).

I've taken fake Wonderlic tests and get in the 35-40 range. I was tested in the 130-135 IQ range when I was in kindergarten. I did well on the old SAT tests in the 1980's: 550 Verbal and 710 Math.

But I will say this: I process information in team sports TERRIBLY. I loved basketball growing up, despite my lack of height. I played a LOT. But I never had a real good "feel" for the game. Nor did I pass well or anticipate well in games. It just didn't work for me. Football I was pretty good but that's because I played a lot of football when I was very young (6-10 years old) and moved to an area with even worse kids than me (when I was 10-15). But even my "good" would be incredibly bad vs. good athletes.

Look, there is no doubt being able to solve the problems on a Wonderlic test indicate some degree of intelligence and well-roundedness in the three "R's".

For example, I just googled "sample Wonderlic Questions" and these are typical of what is on the test:

General Knowledge/Quick Recognition (again, remember this is a TIMED test)

Decent article on what's going wrong with the Ravens' offense. Simply put, Lamar doesn't read Dime defenses as well as he does Nickel and Base. Although never credited, this was a flaw that Butler exposed last year. Also, in the author's opinion, the OC is not helping his QB with the plays he calls. Personally, I hope they both stubbornly stick with what their egos are telling them and their season continues to fall apart. **** THE RAVENS!!
