I just assumed it would be Ben. I think after watching Skins/lions today, if i had a vote it would go to Alex Smith. after 2 years he isnt just back on a team, he is a legit starting QB.

How many games has he won in comparison? Give me Big Ben who some thought had a career threatening injury.

Again I personally could care less. I am sure Ben could care less. That said Ben should be the front runner. Doesn't mean he will win. I'm sure he won't.

Alex had not only a possible career injury but a life threatening injury.

Ben Roethlisberger had a potential "career ending" injury as well. It's not an injury comparison contest but a how well you come back award. ROETHLISBERGER is doing everything possible and at a high rate of excellence. I'll match Ben's stats for Alex's when I get a chance but I would bet Ben's are better.

9-0 is pretty tough to do and when BEN was a rookie all we heard was game manager. Now all we are hearing is crickets about CPOY. Great for Smith to be able to play but has he elevated above his old self. Ben has played pretty EF-in good and is a big part of this streak. Who do you think the young-iNs look up to, even the veterans listen so he is a leader as well. TOTAL package.

Salute the nation

Last I remember, the fans of other teams talk about winning the division, best rookie, best offence, whatever.......what sets the Steeler Nation apart is that we do not give a **** about any trophy other than the sticky Lombardi.

So good luck Ben, but who really gives a **** about who was more injured last week/year/decade? Its not the moral victories, its the wins in Jan/Feb that matter.

the other **** is nice...but it just doesn't matter.....Lombardis are all that matter.....

I'm sure Ben will take a 3rd ring over MVP or comeback player of the year.

So here is tge bullshit part of this whole thing

Ben is on pace to Throw for about 4000 yards and 39 tds
That’s around or above the stats the other high profile qbs had after missing a year with injury and winning cpoty

Luck 2 years ago, Peyton in 2012, Brady in 09, and Brees in 04

Even if we drop several games down tge stretch we still probably finish with better or equal records to any of those qbs teams...
Ben is doing it with a very ****** run game right now

Hell Tannehill basically won it last year For going from very ****** in 11 starts tge year before to having a good 10 starts last year...

Its just absolutely absurd how Roethlisberger is 4th and 5th on these lists...

He is a surefire hall of fame qb and the press treats him like a freaking fullback at times...

And I'm sick of the hype machine around Alex Smith. Hey, he almost died and needed 17 surgeries to come back and play football.

Yay! You did it Alex, you're so ******* brave! And play for a 2 win ******* dumpster fire of a team...

The actual definition from the ap on “Comeback Player of the year” is a player that overcame great adversity to reach a high level of play

Im sorry, I don’t care if his decapitated head was reattached to his body... a qb who is 0-3 with 1 td and 3 picks in 3 appearances this year isnt a high level of play...

When it comes to Alex Smith vs Ben Roethlisberger it's pretty easy to vote for Ben. Why you ask? Look at how much better the Steelers are with Ben than the Redskins are with Alex Smith. That is why Ben should win Comeback Player of the Year. Because of how much of a difference maker he truly is to that team. Last season was painful to watch without him. Can't say the same for the Redskins without Alex Smith....they were pretty much the same if not a better team last season than they are this season.

Especially when Ben had a surgery no player has ever had or come back to play football with. 3 of his 5 tendons were reattached. His career should have been over! And he's playing at an elite level this year, without a running game. WTF is up with all of this residual Ben hate over a decade later?

Smiths' injury was basically deemed career ending and a brutal injury, the same anniversary date of Theismanns career ending injury. . He was left for dead. He was buried on the depth chart, so the story is like a damn Hollywood movie.....

**** Comeback Player of the Year Award....MVP

I mean... thats kind of the case for Ben winning the MVP... another award he will lose to some other Option that the National media Salivates over....

If brady had tampa at 9-0 with the exact same stats as ben, he’d be the unanimous pick for mvp right now
