he is paid millions to play a game....don't feel bad for him at all
when TJ and Derek get their ring this year ........they can take turns letting JJ wear it to make him feel better

He has a year left on his contract but none of it guaranteed....... he could walk next year and join a contender if he can come to an agreement with the Texans to let him go

Not sure what his price would be, but if we cant afford Bud and JJ is available wonder if we could make it work here. I know JJ is not an OLB, but him and TJ rushing the passer would be sweet. I think we could get him pretty cheap due to age, injury concerns, and playing with his bro, its just a matter of how to make him work in our scheme.
My point was it's a shame he won't get a ring with this team, and nothing to do with money.
Same with Marino and Fitz.

his time is pretty much done. unless he's willing to come aboard for something close to minimum, or a heavily incentivized contract, then no thanks.
I think his last year he is due 17.5 million from Houston.... If they are going to rebuild ...JJ made a comment about not having 10 more years in the league but he does think he has 2 or 3 more good years to give someone. He is not the type to come right out and say trade me.....he will do it quietly and I bet you will see him somewhere else next year

ALL good points Paul G but you know as well as I know he won't be anywhere else at 17.5 mill yet alone here in the BURGH. I doubt he would be here at 7mil per, unless BUD DUPREE is gone and even then I highly doubt he will be here under any scenerio.

Me too, for a long time now. There are certain very talented players in the league that are also good guys, JJ is one of them.
The real question is how to make this man a free agent so we can get him with the super secret Watt brother discount. He would assuredly take less money to come play football with his brothers. Pipe dream at best, but maybe Houston cuts him after the year. They're screwed next year too with no top draft picks.
