Ratbird CB Marlon Humphrey tweets he has the Rona

Before the season, I thought they agreed to test before games and then after games. They have to do the same day tests or it is pointless. Someone ****** this up royally. Humphrey could have spread it to a bunch of players.

Son of a ***** missed practice on Wednesday because he was sick. He probably had it then and now infected a bunch of Ratbirds and Steeler players.

I have listened to a couple docs on the radio and read a few articles that on field transmission is actually not considered a big transmistion vector. It is being in enclosed spaces with people for 20 ro so minutes that drives the transmission more than anything. So, I am guardedly hopeful but preparing for the worst.

Yep... though close contact does pose a threat... the bigger one is locker room interaction iirc...

The NFL and NFLPA agreed to game-day PCR testing for COVID-19 starting in Week 6. Everyone tests Sunday morning, but don't get results until late Sunday/early Monday.

So, #Ravens CB Marlon Humphrey and #Packers RB A.J. Dillon played Sunday, only to learn today they're positive.

So, seems this is in line with the agreed upon NFL protocols. Seems to me they shoudl be getting checked Saturday night so the results are there Sunday morning.

But if they tested that way they might have to postpone games like yesterday’s and piss of their network sugar daddies

Unreal...but...Hairball is a little *****. Not at all surprised.

Hairball bitched about the time on the last play and the contact on the receiver by Fitzpatrick. Minkah had two hands on the jump ball. By the way it was the only ****** play he made all day. They gotta figure his role out. He is doing squat.

didn't he knock the ball away from jackson on the 4-3 after Buggs had slowed him down?

Agree 10000%. NFL has to fine that ****** team. They let a guy play who had symptoms during the week then tested positive. This is a clear breakdown in the protocol. Just have to hope he is past the point of being contagious for our guys and since they are the rats, I hope he infected his entire team. **** that ***** *** team.

As a person in HR, I’ve dealt with this all year. A person can test negative and then posit e an hour later as the virus is incubating. That’s why they mandate a 14 day quarantine for known contacts EVEN IF that contact gets a negative test right away (rules for ordinary citizens via Departments of Health). He could have contracted this as many as 14 days prior to Sunday and in just then developed in him to kick the positive test. This could have happened without any mishandling on their part. It does, however, mean he exposed himself somewhere to the virus. In theory it could have been a player from the previous Ravens game or, like most cases, through regular human interaction since no team is in a “bubble” like the NHL had this summer.

I thought the gameday tests were supposed to be quick?

Also if a guy was suspected to have it weren’t they supposed to be held out under a preponderance of caution... or was that just blowing smoke up everyones ***?

Smoke,............ Butt I didn't get any............................

Chances the Rats knew or at a minimum suspected Humphrey had the Rona but basically hid it because they knew they needed him against the Steelers? I give it 95%.

Fun to think about, but there is zero chance the ravens knew Humph was positive. It's the way the test works and it's the test they use. If they did the 1hr test on site, that would cut down on the time, but it's not what they do across the league right now.

The guy was held out of practice Wed with cold like symptoms. I think the point some were making is that the NFL preached people would be put in protocols as an abundance of precaution when players showed any sort of symptom. Granted, colds don't come with fever which is one of the main indicators. Were the signs on Wed indicitive of Covid? I leave that to the medical professionals to advise. But you have to admit, it smells fishy and I like a good conspiracy theory as much as the next guy (and I already know the next guy is an alien)

I hope everyone on our team gets it, we get an extra bye week and then get to move past this **** and get to concentrate on the rest of the season. I am 4 months away from 60 years old have high blood pressure and 50 pounds over weight. News flash I got the rona and lived. Lost my sense of smell and taste for about a week felt really crappy for about three days and moved on with my life.

These are kids in pretty much perfect health they will be just fine. Get it get over it and move on with life. I honestly believe 90% of everyone is gonna get this **** anyway so go Head and get it over with.

I got a buddy that is 82 years old and only has one lung, he got the rona the same time I did ( july) he spent a week in the hospital. Two weeks ago we went dove hunting together

If that is the case, I hope he infected their entire locker room.....but that also means our locker room could be screwed too. Will hope for the best here with minimal positives.

PCRs are the “more” accurate currently. Still has a ton of pos/neg incorrects. In my nursing homes it’s POC testing. Meaning it’s done, read, and results within a couple hrs. Now, it’s less accurate. But we use both. if this dude had signs and symptoms, a POC should have been done then followed by the PRC.

To be honest. Based on their protocols, and timing of tests it tells me one thing. They don’t want to interrupt a sched game and are hoping for the best.

Going back to the TEN issue with our game. They could have tested the entire lot, then again 72hrs later. This would have confirmed or denied any folks with it. (Again false/pos issues). RG is trying the least disruption approach imo.

Agree totally. The quick test is accurate enough if they are doing it a day before a game and a day after. If symptoms, they stay out and have the longer, more accurate test. Humphrey appeared to have symptoms of something on Wednesday and missed practice.

If he wasnt sick I would buy his story, but the dude was sick. No idea how he was able to return to practice and play w/o 2 negative tests. Even in my nursing home we overnight our tests to from PA to TN and get results w/ in 2 days. Being the NFL there is 0 reason not to use the rapid tests for a person with symptoms. I definitely think this should be looked into further.

GREED MACHINE is doing what ever it can to NOT interrupt the TV CONTRACTS. I KNOW THEY HAVE THE SMOKE AND MIRRORS GOING AND (SORRY CAPS to lazy to change), have done very well for the most part but true concern has been lacking.

It's a pretty monster of task to begin with and I'm sure most players show very little signs of symptoms or peril from it. We as fans can see way better options but NFL weighs cost vs profit vs contracts (TV / Cable / ect..). Make no mistake that as a business they are looking at bottom line in decision making.

Don't get me wrong as they have NOT turned a blind eye but they would if they felt it wouldn't affect the bottom line on $$$$$ making.

We had Joe Haden out with illness in practice a few weeks ago, this is flu season, and I know the teams are very proactive about this. They don't want to be the next Titans. There is no way Harbaugh would let Humph infect his team if he knew he had Rona. I'm sure testing happens with anyone that comes down with the illness label.
