First off, I goota say, i love Mike Hilton. Great blitzer and sneaky in coverage. That said he is a bad matchup a lot. Size matters in this game. I'm gonna say Sutton made three 3rd down plays today. I prefer third down plays to well timed second down blitzes that result in a sack.

Cam Sutton, when he is on the field, I know that we're in good hands and the BP isn't rising.
That's when you know you have a damn solid player. I'll just add that Edmunds is rounding into a fine player as well. Still needs to get his head around and know how to play the ball in the air, but all-around good player. Now where they drafted him etc., we don't even need to get into that.

He's a nice next man up, at this point, but, no, Hilton is above the bar...

Hilton has been playing mind boggling ball this year. But, I can't say I wasn't concerned about him going against Henry. He would have been giving up like 70 pounds. Once, playing rugby, I hit a guy 70 more than me when we both had a head of steam. I got him down, but I hurt for a week. Kept all my teeth though.

Edmunds is maddening as a player. You can see that he diagnoses the play correctly. He is there to make the solid tackle. He just always seems to be about a second late. If he gets that figured out, man, this team will really be something defensively.
Edmunds is a high two. He was 28th and for need. He plays a ton of downs. He isn't like Burns with the inconsistency. He just isn't a pro bowl level player. He is just good. Won't break the bank to sign. Again look at Fitzpatrick today. WTF are you going to do with him?

Sutton is a good player and yes, probably better than Hilton in coverage. Nice having both of them available.
I politely disagree. Mike Hilton has made splash plays in every game he was in this year. I roll with Mighty Mouse!
That being said, moving forward, if I have to choose to keep Hilton or Sutton next year, my choice is Sutton. He's more versatile. Plays the nickel CB, Dime Safety, and backup edge CB. No brainer over keeping a Nickel CB.

It’s amazing to see how far Sutton has gone since he came into the league. He played well today but Hilton has played well IMO. I will give Sutton a slight advantage though when it comes to coverage.

They play the same position but are completely different players. Sutton is a more typical corner, Hilton is more of a gimmick guy. I wish we could keep them both, but will probs have to choose. I would keep Sutton due to size and flexibility.

I would love to keep both! Keep Hilton at slot and move Sutton to Safety. I just don't think Edmunds gives us enough - always a step or two too late and can't get his head around. Sutton in his position would be absolutely killer!
yes he has made several splash plays and he has also gotten caught flat footed and beaten for big plays in the passing game. I still want to see him on the field as much as possible, but Sutton did well yesterday
I like Mike Hilton. In fact in the first two games I thought he was the only DB playing well. And he is a good blitzer. I just think with the loss of Bush, you need some prototypical guys that are BIG and can run in those situations. And I still say, Cam Suttons 3rd down plays trump sacks. You get off of the field with those.
There’s no doubt Hilton is a beast on the nickel blitz as well as run stuffing. I think Sutton is more suited for the passing game. I think he’s better than Hilton and has a little more reach than Hilton. I think Sutton has the ability to be a good blitzed as well.
I wouldn't let who is going where next year influence my decision. I would solely base it upon who can help me more now. Now it is impossible to not defer to the coaches decisions because they see it apples to apples in practice. That said, maybe matchup should decide playtime. Like if the slot guy is small and slick its Hilton and if he is big and fast like that Fullgham dude from the Eagles its Sutton.
