Finally college football is back this week after a really long layoff. I heard there may have been a few minor scrimmages before now but haven't confirmed that.

The Big 10 is back in no small part because people at Nebraska were going to sue the B10. The B10 was so grateful that they start Nebraska off with Ohio State and Wisconsin back to back. Then Penn State in Week 4. Probably just a coincidence.

Let's jump right in to the game of the week that the nation is waiting for

8 Penn State at Indiana 3:30 on FS1
A familiar name for steeler fans. Joey Porter Jr is listed as the starter at CB and reports are they are very high on him. Star LB Micah Parsons has opted out of the season to prepare for the NFL. The best in-line TE in the nation, Pat Freiermuth will play.

Starting RB Journey Brown who had a breakout towards the end of last year will not play this year due to an undisclosed non-covid condition. That's disappointing but PSU is very deep at RB so they will be fine there.

The question is at WR. Who will step up?

Penn State has a new OC over from Minnesota. With reduced practices, how much of his offense is installed? Could be a slow start

Now for some less important games

23 NC State at 14 North Carolina 12:00 on ESPN
UNC seemed to be cruising and then they were upset by Florida State. How good are they?

3 Notre Dame at Pitt 3:30 on ABC
ND did not look great vs a struggling Florida State and barely beat a mediocre Louisville. Pitt lost 3 in a row but they have been in all of them. Can they pull an upset?

2 Alabama at Tennessee 3:30 CBS
Tenn looked like maybe they would turn a corner, then their QB **** his pants. Bama's defense has not been good but unless Tenn's QB suddenly stops sucking, this will be a blowout

17 Iowa State at 6 Oklahoma State 3:30 FOX
Iowa State pulled off an upset over Oklahoma but that looks less impressive now. Oklahoma State had a struggle with West Virginia a few weeks ago and also struggled vs Tulsa. Hopefully coach Gundy will have his wardrobe approved by his RB before the game so they have no issues.

18 Michigan at 21 Minnesota 7:30 ABC
was last year a fluke for Minn? Minn's best player WR Rashod Bateman opted out, but then he opted back in so he is playing. They also have QB Tyler Morgan returning. They lost their OC to Penn State but the offense shouldn't change much. Michigan will be breaking in a new starter, likely sophomore Joe Milton after Dylan McCaffrey (Christian's brother) got wise and entered the transfer portal. Michigan is inexperienced. Here's hoping MInn rows the boat over Harbaugh's stupid face.

Big 10 was stupid for delaying so long. The SEC and Big 12 have extra weeks to deal with possible cancelled games. The B10 by delaying has taken away the wiggle room. Of course, that is assuming those in charge actually want football and they don’t. It’s not a secret that many of the better academic schools have influential administrators, professors, and board members who HATE football. They hate that many of their schools are more known for football than their paper on transgender fruit flies and their role in climate change.

I'm not even sure I can watch the Hawkeyes this year after the way they've been dragged through the mud. Shameful to be honest.

Big 10 and PAC 12 should only be eligible for participation trophies this year.

I agree with the PAC only playing 6 games but the Big Ten teams will be playing 8 conference games plus a championship. Are you saying 8 conference games is not a tough enough schedule? If so then you should tell the SEC that because they only play 8 in normal years.

We still don't know what this season will hold. Any team can have a game cancelled. LSU and Florida had their game postponed. Will it be made up? Maybe. But if the game is not needed to determine an SEC champ and can only hurt Florida's playoff chances, i won't be surprised if it isn't played. We don't know.

Only made the comment because schools that didn't shelter already have 5-6 games under their belt. Not fair to the kids, but those conferences chose to hide while other did the work.
Anyway, just a little ribbing directed at 2020.

The Big Ten ganging up to put Nebraska in their place. A bunch of bogus targeting calls so Nebraska will be depleted next week vs Wisconsin.

I'm a bit nervous vs Indiana. Anything can happen in these early games with limited practices. PSU installing a new offense, it could be a rough start. Their OL should be good though. They have a new OL coach and also a new WR coach. Former Purdue star Taylor Stubblefield. PSU has had some big time WR recruits who have underachieved. Hopeful this new coach can get the young guys to contribute immediately.

Their only real experienced WR is Jahan Dotson and he has been mostly average in his career. Freshman Parker Washigton is listed as a starter.

Indiana is experienced and won 8 games last year. Tough game week 1, especially is PSU is looking forward to Ohio State next week.

Sucks with no fans, next week's game vs Ohio State would have been a White Out on Halloween. Would have been epic.

I can't believe I actually put money on Pitt. They're getting 10.5 and ND's offense has been sputtering. Pitt is generally good on D. They should be able to stay within 10 points.

I don't know who is playing QB for Penn State but that is as bad of an INT that you'll ever see.

Why, that’s Sean Clifford. Aside from Friermuth, he’s got no one to throw to, but both of his INT’s were horrible. Guy isn’t very good when he has people throw to, but still.

Man, Penn State just flat out sucks right now. Not a damn thing going right at the moment.

Franklin needs to be fired. Clifford needs to be benched. The new OC they brought in from Minnesota sucks. The OL sucks as usual.

Bill O'Brien is unemployed.

Total embarrassment for PSU.

Bring on the Stillers game.

Yeah, I'm about done with Franklin and his Rah-Rah BS. If you can't get a team into the playoffs with Saquon Barkley, Miles Sanders, Mike Gesicki, McSorley and KJ Hamler on your roster you will never sniff one.

Lookin at 0-2 for PSU 'cause next week OSU is gonna crush this team.

Beginning of the 4th quarter, Notre Dame 45 Pitt 3. Looks like Coach Dooz has a ways to go.
