Trade season

I will probs get laughed at, but I would trade a 7th to get barron back. He knows the system and wasn't horrible

Yeah, laughter is coming your way.

Doubt we do much. We just don't have much $$$ and the Steelers generally stay with guys in season (minus picking up Minkah).

The deadline is November 3rd... its already begun

McClendon and a seventh to the bucs for a sixth... Sounds like cheapskate teams that aren’t contenders are open to dumping guys this year...

Would not shock me to see more trades this year than normal. Bad teams looking to dump camp ahead of next years unknowns. Not sure we can do anything beyond a low cost rental player right now.

I guess you completely forgot about him loafing around the field last year. I don't want any half effort guys on this squad.

i did forget that. but i didnt forget that we were short on inside linebackers before bush went down.

I hear ya man, I don't want a loafer on this team though.

i didnt see a loafer, I did see someone that improved weekly and at the end of the year didnt suck. He is not Bush. he probably isn't a Spillane, but he is probably the best option of making the defense deeper.

Sorry adding on here. what happens if Spillane goes down? who replaces?

Ulysees flashed in preseason last year, all accounts, he was killing it again this year, but is solidly at the back of depth chart at ILB. He is very athletic, so if he gets in, we can see similar athleticism from him as bush and Shazier, albeit a step behind though.

something is a miss with UG3. we've all seen his ability...why isn't he contributing?
i wonder if he isn't able to retain defensive concepts and able to be in the right position at all times.

My guess is the other guys are better on ST. If that is the case, he should start getting snaps this week.

Truthfully, looking at his contract we’d only be on the hook for a million and he likely doesn’t start unless Williams gets hurt. Probably sub package guy maybe goal line when we want more meat at the point of attack but don’t want to completely sell out vs a TE. Throw a 2022 7th and they’d probably take it.

I'd be interested in seeing UG3 get some snaps out there. Spillane played well but I don't think he was as heavily tested as he will be the next 3 Sunday's. The focus isn't just on stopping the RB, we have mobile QBs who can get out of the pocket the next 2 weeks in addition to the RBs the next 3 weeks we face. Good news for us, we don't have long to wait to see the changes made with Bush out.

Looks like the coaches and FO are happy with who we have on the roster, who have been here. To only bring in a PS guy says a lot. I like their confidence. Really hope it works out of how they envision the "next man up" mantra.

Several rumors are persistently making the rounds

Here are some interesting ones

From dallas (2week away opponents)
Dallas is looking at Fitzpatrick from miami... several sources debunk this. If Dallas decides to be buyers at the deadline they may try to bring in a qb, but defense is the priority and why would miami lose such a quality mentor for tua?

Dallas may try to trade amari Cooper... they have a glut of wrs, no qb and it saves cap.

HEre is a pats rumor:
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.pa...cornerback-stephon-gilmore-day-two-draft-pick

Basically they shopped gilmore in the offseason and if they lose this week they are done... moving last years dpoy for a 2nd or 3rd makes some sense

I'd kick the tires on Denzel to see what he would cost us to bring in.

I've always said, kick the tires on many and maybe one will stick. I hold by that staement.

Salute the nation

we should look at avery williamson
Denzel
and via eithier barron or darren lee
i think if brought in lee is fast enough to drop back to be asked of the coverage role bush was assigned in CF
