I know that I was deeply unhappy with him last year and thought that he was unimaginative and not putting our guys in a position to succeed. But that has been significantly different this year.

It is so good to hear the announcers talking about "imaginative play calling" and seeing all of our weapons being used. It can still be a bit predictable but at least we're catching up to the NFL in terms of a modern(-ish) offense. I hope that it continues to evolve. I don't think he's ever going to be a McVay but this is light years ahead of where it was.

Weird that they brought in a guy named Canada, and the Canadian rookie has 6 TDs in 4 games, eh.

love them damn canadians, with their beady little eyes and flappy heads

Thought he went to the well one too many times with the same trick play or run. The screen pass is good to see after ignoring it for so many years, and no, not that ****** WR bubble screen either.

They found a new weapon with Claypool who looks like his arrow is pointing up, har har

Canada has been the difference. the motion and counter plays are all him, man. It's going to get more complex as the season goes on. The Steelers are going to be eyeing a dual threat QB as our future.
I prefer a mobile QB who scrambles to pass over one who scrambles to run if they go shopping. I want to give Canada more credit than Randy. But perhaps they both deserve to share the credit. I like the direction the O is going.

We saw a lot of Matt Canada's offense on Sunday. Motion, shifting the linemen, jet sweeps, etc. Even if the plays don't always succeed, it could set something up later in the game or even later in the season. What I'll credit the entire coaching staff with is designing plays specifically to get Claypool the ball.

I don’t know how much of that was Matt Canada. I remember some of the same plays with Rudolph and Duck in there. I am not really a fan of Fichtner, but he could improve his stock exponentially if he would just stop running those sweeps out of the shotgun with Conner. Seems like that play rarely works left or right. Aside from that, I thought he called a good game yesterday to combat Philly’s pass rush.

It is a copycat league - some of the runs looked very similar to the Ravens stuff.

There was a good video from Brett Kollman about how McVay is stealing from the Ravens. The play that he chose looked very similar to some of the stuff that we ran and had success with.

Thanks Slaine. I have watched his video analysis in the past.....love it! I never played organized football. You really appreciate the complexity of the game with these types of videos. A must watch for football fans!

Canada's SHOUT out to Fitchner....

"Thanks for Listening"

Salute the nation

He has done a better job but we cannot compare to last year. The game Sunday when the eagles called out the screen, the Steelers should get out of the predictable formations.

Maybe Ben could have audibled after they called out the screen? Not picking at Ben. I'm just wondering if that was an option that was available to him.

Canada will be offensive coordinator when Fichners' contract expires.
