Breaking News: Kevin Dotson to Make his First NFL Start

Perhaps you throw him at mix with Feiler for the start sooner than later after DD's return. Reality of it is he probably will start next year but provides excellent depth.

Ben ROETHLISBERGER gets #7 this year. SB or not he plays next year then retires and David Decastro is gone as well. Big Dot will start next year because Decastro will be the back up (nothing against DD but he is slowing).

Salute the naqtion

If he starts this week- it will be a good test. He could make DD a cap casualty if the cap goes down next year if Dotson plays at high level. Nothing against DD.

That's crazy talk. DeCastro is our best OL player and still on top of his game. He's ultra reliable and durable.

It's nice to see the rookie play well. If anyone is a cap casualty its Fieler who is a free agent and will get paid!

PS: Our cap space next year is going to be a HUGE problem. Currently we are negative $26.8 million in cap space. Don't rule out the cap going down either.

Ben gave him the game ball!

According to PFF, Dotson didn't allow a QB pressure in 42 passing snaps! DD can sit as far as I'm concerned.

And holy ****, after watching Alex Kozorka's highlight cut-ups of him, this kid looked like a damn veteran out there. Wow.

I find myself agreeing with Coach two times now this week (there's something amiss in the cosmos). Agreed, it's one game. Still very encouraging.

If you be more pragmatic, we might agree over 50% of the time. Dotson has some push to his game. He didn't look out of place, and that's a very good sign for a rookie this early in the season.

I was a little worried about the pick as he had no combine ( wasn't invited ) and had no campus workout either with report saying he not a good mover.

I also think Chucks showed better pass blocking than Banner and looks to be the better man to start. But it was only one game, too small of a sample to say for sure.

Coach, the league voted on a $175M floor before the season started. That is as low as the salary cap will go.

If it drops there DD is a consideration. You of all people know pushing our punter out the door to save $1M! ;)

2020 ... It's what 2012 was supposed to be.

While watching more of his highlight cut-ups, it's also so impressive that it came against Jurrell Casey and the rest of that Bronco's front 7. Whoever said they had a good feeling about Kevin Dotson prior to him taking an NFL snap, kudos to you sir.

I have a great feeling about this. He'll struggle a bit at first, but he's going to be kicking *** soon.

Boom! And to Cope and the other optimists on this one:
