The defense played just well enough to win, but they have to stop giving away first downs via penalties. 2 last week and 6(!) more today. These are allowing opponents' drives to continue and end up with points...better teams will make the Steelers pay even more dearly if they don't get this cleaned up.

Also, great game from Diontae Johnson. Despite the rough start last week, I think he's still looking like he might develop into the next AB. He's developing a good rapport with Ben already.

Johnson also had some hiccups today, but the guy is just incredible in space with the ball in his hands. His return TD was negated by another questionable call by the refs IMO.

Those PI calls were pretty bad as well but that's one homer's opinion.

DJ drives me a bit crazy. The guy is really inconsistent. Makes some great plays but has more than his share of drops. He's got a long way to go if he's gonna be "the next you-know-who"

Bermuda endorses this post...

Too often games are closer than they should have been with momentum being helped by bad calls. Happens too often to teams to be a coincidence.
I swear the officials were just trying to keep it close with some of those penalties.

The defense played just well enough to win???

Most of the game they owned it. Some weak PI calls kept it close

What was weak was running game & offensive line. It’s probably gonna be weak till DeCastro is back on the young guys find rhythm

Johnson is a big time playmaker and appears as though he'll be one of those guys who frustrates you with a fair share of boneheaded plays.

I agree that some of the calls were marginal, but if you don't put your hands on the receiver before the ball gets there, you cannot get a penalty.

Yes, just well enough. Denver had the ball on the Steelers' 15 at the 2-minute warning trailing by 5 points, despite playing with their second-string quarterback for the vast majority of the game. What would you call it?

There is no doubt as to weather it is an "INFLUENCED" game this NFL product puts out. It's to keep viewership interested through all 4 quarters.

Salute the nation

That call on the punt return was BS. Defender was diving to try to tackle DJ. I think the official threw the flag because he saw the Steeler put his hand up in the "I didn't do it" pose. They need to coach them up to never do that pose.
