38 year old plus QB's looked awful opening day...Big Ben MNF debut prediction

I hope Ben doesn’t need to put up anything over 300 yards out of the gate if he doesn’t need to.

I'm hoping they use him properly !!!!

Why are you changing the play at the line of scrimmage? I said over 38 years old. No audibles DRINK... Stick to the PLAYBOOK dammit

AND all I did was confirm that staement by giving their ages. I don't wear a head phone to get plays up to the line / last second. ONLY the 43 year old use to get that privledge but in tampontommy he seems to have lost that edge.

Ben looked a little rusty until they started going with the quick outs....

He really came on in the 2nd half. Very efficient. Took what was there, didn't get greedy.

If Johnson had some stickum he'd have had another 30 yards.

After he took that hit and then got into the hurry-up 2 minute drill, Ben was Ben.

Ben is back boys. With more time with Ebron, DJ and now Claypool, look the **** out NFL.

Ah... Game 1 and it was the Giants. Nothing to get too excited about just yet. The Steelers are SUPPOSED to win these games. Tonight they amazingly did... I suspect Tomlin is as baffled as anyone.

I had this penciled in as a head scratching loss. Tomlin never has a team ready to start the season, and always seems to lose the games labeled as winable.

Just remember, one game does not a season make.

Great first game. As I anticipated for his first game back, just manage the game and pound the rock. Snell over 100. Ben at 229 3TDs and no INTs and only sacked twice. Very good game considering he hasn't thrown a TD since 2018...

That O'l saying....... That's why they play the game........... Is there for a reason. Some here wrote this game off yet we win and then say...Its only one game, granted a true stATEMENT BUT Remeber it's just one game that was won.!!

Maybe it wasn't a perfect game but there were a lot of strong points with-in the game. How about that "D" holding Barkley to 6 yards on 15 carries.......WowSA !!!

What about BEN's 3 TD with NO INTs...... WowSA

What about Benny Snell's 104 yards.......WowSA

TJ's interception.........WowSA

Others as well so these guys came to play and changing our mind set of "the slow starting team history" has begun.

1-0 is a hell of a good start.

EDIT: Wanted to add that we don't get to pick our opponents and I'm glad we had NY as our first game to help "TUNE UP" to a season season of football.

You gotta rain on my parade with some reality, wig? I understand, but Ben got comfortable and confident (after a shaky start) and was throwing darts to guys who weren't even out of their breaks and was in complete command of that game. I usually expect Ben to shake off quite a bit more rust, especially given the current circumstances.

A win is a win, especially away, eventhough Covid 19 protocol has taken away almost all of the homefield advantage.

Benny Snell sure has improved as a second year guy. Just has to learn to hold onto the ball when fighting for extra yardage. THANK YOU THANK YOU JUJU!

The Giants had an impressive drive to almost score on the Steelers when it was close but the pressure by Bud Dupree and I think slight contact with QB Jones hand cause the ball to float.

Tight ends really hurt our D. Need to work on that.

Ben really shows his experience. Instead of giving up on Dionte Johnson who obviously forgot to turn around on one of the first plays of the series, Big Ben kept throwing him timing plays.

Nice to see JuJu have that TD catch in the end zone.

I get it that it's only the Giants but a win is a win and the Steelers kept getting better as the game progressed.

The best thing I saw was a controlled, smart Ben throwing the passes that needed to be thrown and not taking unnecessary risks.

His line, ironically enough was worse than the "old guys" average in completion percentage (66% vs 67% average for the 4) and he threw an average of almost 40 yards less than the other guys. But obviously his TDs and INTs were (dare I say it) above the line.

So, ultimately he was efficient and effective and even though his numbers weren't necessarily as good as the other QBs on the day, he did a much better job of taking advantage of the opportunities that were presented him. We all know that as Ben gets more and more comfortable he's just going to get better and better. So I see this as a GREAT opener.

Great decisions, good throws (mostly) and excellent support from his skill players. (the receivers had at least 3 or 4 drops on the night as well that took away from what might have been, but you can't account for that, it's just part of the game.)
