Steelers pick up Dobbs in Waivers

Sean Davis also. I dont see it anywhere here.

I have not been following much..can't seem to get into it with all going on...but isn't there an extended practice squad you can put vets on if covid hits? Could someone explain?

It is posted in another thread but yeah two interesting pickups for depth.

I don't think you can ***** about either signing. Personally, I don't believe Dobbs has a future, but neither does Duck and at least he is a contrasting style. Sean Davis has started a hell of a lot of games for this team. He is a pretty damn good backup that can transition seamlessly. He will be a good SP teamer too.

At least we are talking about real football moves finally. Seems like a long ,long off season. It’s the least hyped up I have ever been before the start of Steeler Football. While I like the moves,I probably would have kicked the tires on Rosen instead, hoping for more of a future upside.

Oh you know there will be folks screaming about either signings. Coach will chirp his nonsense as well. Remember he can call a 7th round pick a reach, if there is such a thing.

Both players know the Steeler systems and have experience. Especially Davis. Depth is what Colbert and Tomlin are building for a run this year.

I’m ok with this. Not that Tomlin needs my approval. I would’ve rather seen them go after McKnown or Kicked the tires on Rosen.

It’s 2017 all over.

Welcome back Dobbs.

Davis? Eh he’s serviceable I suppose

They may well have contacted Rosen. You need a dance partner for a transaction. All beit only slightly, but the team is better with these moves. And there is no transition in the locker room. Obviously they wanted them back cause they are a fit. and from their perspective, if all things are equal they must enjoy this team.

read earlier that Rosen came with 3.6M cap hit if a team claimed him off waivers. Further, article said Rosen's agent was tryign to discourage teams to claim him on waivers so they can negotiate a better deal. Either way, I am sure the cost was more than the team wants to bear right now.

Dobbs is better then both Duck and Rudolph

How would we know, he hasn't been here for a year. I agree on better than Duck but Rednose has grown and if you watch his pre-knockout games he was progressing well. I'd have to see Dobbs in current state, Rudolf as well.

Dobbs is gonna be the future

Certain fans in the Steeler FB groups will be losing their **** and will demand he start the first time Ben throws an interception.
