this is all by design. It’s why the media now only talks about cases, almost never deaths. They want the public to just assume all these people are dying. Imagine how different things would be if each time they talked about the new cases, they then said that now lowers the death rate to .04%.

So an update on my son's COVID. He is finished with it. For those interested...
He's 21. Saturday the 18th he started having a sore throat. Didn't tell anyone, thought it was his allergies. Sunday he went running and was short of breath. Monday he just felt a little under the weather and tired then Tuesday he woke up and said "something isn't right" I'm coughing up ****, but it's not green/yellow, this is odd and he felt like "***" as he said it and went and got tested and was positive. Basically for Tuesday and Wednesday he suffered cold symptoms and that was it. Got an earache. He's in incredible shape, very healthy, so it barely phased him. The hardest part was staying in his room.
He took a 2nd test the day after, it was also positive.
The CDC called him (he didn't call them...odd...they JUST called him) July 30 (this Thursday) and asked when he last had symptoms. He said Wednesday the 20th. They said "you're non-contagious 10 days after the ONSET of your symptoms." So they said you are good to go. I said...hmmm...given no one knows, please stay in your room and go get a rapid test tomorrow (yesterday). He did.
Last night we are having dinner...I was going to go up and tell him he's free but he beat me to the punch. I hear music...getting louder. He comes walking downstairs with his bluetooth speaker blaring Eminem, "Without Me" making sure these lyrics were playing as he marched into the main room pumping his fist.

I laughed my *** off. I'm like what the??? He said "The Doc just facetimed me, the test I took today was negative, the CDC told me yesterday I'm good to go. I'm FREE."
My wife tested negative, and my son and I tested negative twice.
My son and I were around him Saturday and Sunday and Monday when he had it. My wife left town Saturday so she hadn't been exposed to him. None of us got it. Living in the same house. He didn't quarantine until Tuesday. I find that odd.
For now, all is good.

My wife's parents are in Florida, didn't want to come back up north for the summer for fear of flying and such. My father in law is a pretty hard headed Korean War Vet, refused any kind of social distancing or mask wearing. He hung out with a group of about a dozen like-minded men at a social club on a daily basis. One of the younger members of the group had some risk factors that led him to quarantine himself at home for two months.
Fast forward two months: no one in the group at the social club contracted the virus, state is doing ok, so the younger guy who stayed home for two months comes out and both he and his girlfriend both become infected pretty quickly. He calls the group to tell them they've been exposed, no else tests positive except for my father in law. He has body aches and a cough for about a week and recovers fully after 7-10 day at home with only Tylenol recommended by his doctor. His friend and girlfriend also recover completely. My father in law is 80 years old, history of multiple bypass surgery, gets pneumonia almost every year (because he refuses to treat the common cold correctly), and is considered pre-diabetic. My mother in law has multiple health issues and never became infected in spite of being in the same house the whole time.
The point is that most people recover completely, even those in high risk categories.

Just heard the report that California passed a "grim milestone" of 500,000 cases and 9000 deaths. Sounds awful until you realize the population of CA is 39.56 Million. So a bit of math says that's 1.26% of the population had it and .02% have died.
I have a feeling all of these discussions would be VERY different if they reported the numbers that way each time. You hear 500,000 cases and it sounds like a ton of people. But you then follow that up with, that's 1.26% of the population and most people would probably say, Oh that's not too bad.

And I’m sure, 75-80 percent of that is from nursing homes. Not saying NHs bad, just the population this thing targets

Coincidentally, that's also the location where the only real, large protests occurred in California. San Diego County (a population of 3.88 million) have just over 500 deaths, and San Francisco have like 70 deaths last I checked.
When Birx said she didn't trust anything coming out of the CDC, it was a strong signal that they were cooking the books. I don't trust any of these figures.
It's like fear has completely overtaken all critical thinking skills. It's a weird, twilight zone type of feeling.

The truth will show itself in about a year or so.
So saying flu deaths, pneumonia, cancer, you see where I’m going ....deaths each year over the past several have been around X%. How will those numbers look in 2020. If you see these numbers take a dive or a hard turn from the norm projection then. Then you have it.

Hearing several professional coaches and athletes have had "false positive" tests. So uh, how do they know if the positive was false or if the subsequent negative was a false negative? If there are that many among this small population, how many false positives are there overall?
I don't think the testing numbers are to be trusted, period. They are meaningless.

In my nursing home we have had i think 8 positive tests. 5 residents and 3 employees. No residents and only 1 employee had symptoms. Everyone but the 1 employee had double negatives after the first positive. Another one of our buildings had 15 positive tests not a single one had symptoms. We are thinking faulty tests. They get overnighted, but go from PA to TN sitting in a piping hot fedex truck can not be good. Now we are stuck in an endless testing cycle. The whole building has to have 0 positive for 2 weeks to end the weekly testing.

My friend's mom in a nursing home in OH tested positive. She was already n heart failure and kidney failure, in her 90s. Never had symptoms. 2 negative tests within the next week.
