It was ONLY a matter of time. Maybe our health experts know what they are talking about when they say Major Sports shouldn't have a season this year.
As for an ISOLATED season, I highly doubt that will happen. Shortened season seems more distant as time goes by. Delayed season,..what,...suddenly everyone is healed,...T'aint happening.

so it happened already at some point bet they are out of quarantine by now best thing is if the things are trending play no games in miami have the fins jags bucs relocate no smaller cities and they play home games at hign school or smaller div 2 school stadiums.

At times like the is the player union has a chance to shine. Positive test now will be gone in 2-3 weeks for most people.
Bottom line: If you want to get paid this year, agree to move to an area after a negative Covid -19 test and stay there. Play ball in a bubble. If not, the players union is dead, as most of the players need their game check this year as poorly manage their money. The owners know this and will HAMMER the players on negotiations, knowing full well people will be behind.
Pay me a million dollars and I'll gladly move to any state for the football season and spend my off time there. I can think of 1,000's of towns that have hotels that would welcome the NFL players for a season.

It’s not about only having 6,000 in attendance instead of 60,000. It’s keeping people distanced from each other. So they could have 6,000 (or whatever) in a 60,000 seat stadium, a smaller stadium doesn’t solve the problem. Regardless, if the new cases keep increasing there won’t be a season.

sadly, i have seen a number of different reports suggesting that the antibodies fade within a few months of a return to health. Of course, like anything with this damn pandemic, facts are darn hard to get so...dumps the salt shaker out on the table for anyone that might want a grain.

Why would you even go to a game ? Even if I lived right in PITTSBURGH, I'd have to double think it considering the cost VS reward. You see a better game on the TV but there is something about being there. That being presence with a hospital feel may not be worth it to some, attendance will be down as the season progresses.

can somebody explain to me why players testing positive months before the season is a bad thing? Seems like a good thing to me. Wouldn't it be best if all 53 tested positive now and therefore were less likely to get sick during the season?
NFL and college players are at the lowest risk to the disease. They are all young and fit. Most won't even have symptoms and the chances of any of them getting seriously ill is practically 0.
Why is everyone so upset over rising numbers of cases/ If you recall the start of this whole thing, the purpose of the lockdowns were to "flatten the curve". The curve was the number of people needing ventilators and ICU beds. The fear was that hospital could get overrun. That never happened. The curve was flattened months ago, but then somehow the goalposts moved. Now they just talk about cases and not serious illnesses and deaths. That's because there are now very few of those.
Life must go on.
