Rosey's injuries got him Nixed so turn down for Watt do the Steelers do? Bring in a healthier upgrade..... And I am stoked about that.

Excellent read Cope and you do know this is football....right...... But you keep hitting home runs..........

One thing about the WATT kid is the defense will have to account for the passing threat. With Rosie, there wasn't much passing threat to worry about. NOW we have to get Fichtner to actually set up the pass play involving the FB. CANADA will be bending that ear to that degree or so I hope.

Dan Kreider Bulldozing for fast Willie was Steeler football at its finest!
Hopefully Watt and Mcfarland bring back that thunder and lightning combo.

The more defenses go faster and lighter to defend the pass, the greater the value the running game and Fullbacks can have. What's really needed is a Fullback, who can block and catch with some RAC ability.

Watt won't be an upgrade over a healthy Nix, but Nix has had health problems. I don't see this being a big I formation offence. But if you put Macdonald on one end and then Watt in a search position. You could overwhelm an edge.

If you haven't noticed, we signed a FA fullback that can do just that. Oh, and lay the wood as in pancake time too.

Yeah the Steelers signed a full back, but he hardly catches the ball and is zero threat to run with it. He can block well though, but will the Steelers use him or keep him off the field? Nix was a tremendous blocker and fine special teams player. He just could not stay healthy.

Coach, he can catch JUST FINE. It all comes down to how they use him and how often he is targeted. I see him primarily used in the run game. You can't take away pro bowl receiver targets just for a FB to catch. If he gets more than 1 or 2 passes per game I'll be surprised. As said it all comes down to how his number is called.

As for NIX, he WAS pretty good but injury keeping him off the field doesn't help. The STEELERS chose to move on and replaced him with equal ( I think better) talent. End of story.

Just because you say FB can't catch a pass doen't make it so, try watching actual games and NOT just look at a stat line.

he can catch and be used for screens go look at some high highlights, goof speed for a fb after the catch to.

IF you can believe it, Watt is a better ST player than NIX and Nix was a monster. Watt plays on more units as well, but you'd have to watch film to know that...
