The Coronavirus thread

Sigh. As usual, your mind is floating around in some bizarre fantasy world. I'm talking about Trump currently, tweeting away in the WH, acting like a sniffling toddler, not back in the late eighties when Reagan may have met him. But you do you, believe what you will. I don't want to burst your bubble.

iu

Reagan: "******* leftists are a vile plague."
Trump: "You have no idea, Mr. President."

Blindness hate because they lost, because they don’t like him. I love it. It fuels us more.

Chip posted this along time ago, not sure what thread but I’ll do it again. The words are what trump has been fighting for. He isn’t close to as smooth or polished, but different times call for a different approach

Your TDS hatred is clouding your judgement as usual. For every dumb TWEET Trump sends he DOES ten good things for America. You are just too far gone mentally to see it. Much like everyone else on the left with TDS, you haven't yet realized that words are not violence.

I posted two photos of President Reagan - subjected to 8 years of vile, contemptible liberal lies, claims that he was a moron, the allegations that he was killing the poor by giving them jobs, and hated minorities by making the nation better for them and their families - shaking Trump's hand.

And THAT'S your response? A visual of your response (hat tip Steelworth):

And which even OFTB so evenhandedly laid out in another post (maybe another thread). What Trump says/tweets/farts and what Trump's done are a stark contrast. You just have to be able to tune out the bullshit and the personality of somebody generally unlikable to get to the nuts & bolts. Liberals can't seem to figure this fairly practical application of common sense out apparently.

That wasn't me my friend (actually I thought that was you who posted it, lol) but I will shamelessly take credit for it.

And it really is an awesome gif, especially because he didn't end up getting hurt.

Shut up a-hole...you've been posting away from 3rd world Hungary like a sniffling toddler since the man was elected...and you're still reeling.

Not to diminish the reason for the season, but Memorial Day was the greatest car racing weekend of the year. Normally there would be the Monaco F1 race in the morning, Indy 500 in the afternoon, and NASCAR Coca-Cola 600 in the evening.

All of which I would watch from the comfy confines of the infield at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The first two on the flat screen outside the RV and the last live from the roof of said RV all while consuming mass quantities of beer, smoked pork and pork by-products, and cigars.

But nooooooo....... Has to be the effin' Corona virus wreck everything. Monaco is cancelled, Indy 500 is postponed until who-knows-when, NASCAR is gonna run but with no fans. I LIVE for this weekend every year and going to Charlotte.

All of the crew put in for days off a while ago so we are taking said RV, beer, pork, and cigars and going to a campground halfway to Charlotte and watch the race on TV. At least I'm off work for a few days. Maybe the barber shops will be open in Virginia or NC and at least I can get a haircut.

Reagan certainly would have agreed with Trump's sweeping tax cuts and deregulation, his appointment of strict constructionist justices, protection of the second amendment, his support of religious freedom, building the strongest, most powerful military in the world, not appeasing rogue sponsors of terrorism like Iran with sweet unenforceable deals, not supporting abortion until birth like today's Dems...

Crickets on these points but you can comment on his tweets...

Trump's tweets are a big part of his problem and I highly doubt Reagan would approve of Trumps petty attacks or general classlessness. Of course any conservative would approve of the policies you mentioned so i am not sure what your getting at. People always talk about how the media is unfair to Trump or whatever, but 90% of their "unfairness" is due to asinine comments made by Trump. Trump simply can not take criticism whether it is fair or not. He is a giant man baby . Every president has been criticized one way or another doesn't mean you should act like a spoiled brat. I think Trump gets a rush out of the constant back and forths, but then don't try to pin others as bashing you when you are constantly stirring the pot.

Trump gives them plenty of ammunition, that's his biggest problem. That doesn't change the fact that not all criticisms of him are valid. Intelligent people are able to separate unfair criticism from valid criticism.

While I disagree with most of what Barack Obama believed in I believe he is a good husband, a good father, and decent if misguided human being. Trump unfortunately represents the opposite end of the spectrum. A pretty unlikable guy in a lot of ways who nevertheless loves this country and has done a lot of good things for it. Victims of TDS are unable to separate what they dislike about Trump from the beneficial things he or his administration have done. I do believe he brings some of it on himself, on the other hand it seems to me conservatives are more able to disagree on policy without being filled with blinding rage and hate.

I am old enough to remember the days when you could actually have a rational back and forth discussion with people on issues like taxes, immigration, social programs, abortion, the death penalty, race etc. No more. Now if you don't tow the liberal party line on everything they will destroy you.

And i thank you for doing so. I've watched it multiple times and I've shown it to several fence sitters. Amazing stuff!

I think she was getting at just that. Reagan would likely approve of almost all of his policy decisions in spite of his non-policy antics. What was so hard to understand about what she was getting at?

So you think HE is to blame for the contentious relationship with the media? It only came about because of HIS behavior? You think the media is blameless, that they're only acting in kind to his 'asinine comments'?

Then please explain why they treated George W. Bush the way they did. He never made a cross comment about anyone and they called him an idiot, moron, drunk, portrayed him as a monkey.... Was that W's fault too?

The media are a bunch of hateful, progressive, anti-American ****s. They truly are the enemy of the American people. He treats them with more respect than they deserve.

Amen. Not only W., but Mitt Romney, John McCain etc. etc. Saying "90% of the unfairness from the media is due to Trump himself" is just delusional.

The media are absolute slime. The fact you can't reconcile that the media are not only awful, but Anti-American pond scum of the lowest order is baffling, jitter. As to Stoney's bolded, absolutely spot on and refreshing in a way (I've never seen a politician go so hard at the media like Trump does, and they deserve every ounce of disdain and disrespect he dishes out).

Probably the biggest reason I voted for Trump was because of my utter disgust at the media elites. And it most certainly didn't start because of Trump. He cannot be too belligerent towards them in my eyes. They are fair game.

I agree the media is slime and they will do anything for a story and I remember them being particularly harsh on Bush Jr. about his smarts, but IMO the president of the USA should handle himself with dignity. You could make 10 pages of asinine things Trump said and not even scratch the surface. How many times has he said something then be like "oh i never said that" when it is on cameras or in writing. The attacks on people's looks or disabilities or whatever should be beneath the highest office in the world. If Trump didnt make his dumb comments or tweets the media would have much less to talk about. I have no problem with attacking the media or dems or whatever, but do it intelligently and not like a 12yr old. He has more than enough ammo to go after dems based on policies or failed policies or whatever, but use hard facts, talk with class, and dont rant and rave like a lunatic. Hell if I was Trump there is no need to call Biden any names just play the creepy video of him touching / sniffing the kids at a press conference. If he wants to attack the media just ask them why they are not investigating Reade's claims like they did with the lady who spoke against Brett Kavanaugh. There are way better approaches to go about things than Trump is doing and he could be so much more effective. His attitude and narcissism are going to end up costing him the election.
