In an article about the media and the Flynn "fact checkers" there was this snippet that rang so true that all the articles about the overblown response to covid just seem to fall right in place. True or not, it's plausible and that in itself is scary. Michele Malkin just had one of her speeches banned by the social media for speaking out about 'big tech' censorship....talk about irony

Eric Trump claimed Saturday that the coronavirus will “magically” vanish after the November election and allow the country to fully reopen — an assertion that has no basis in science and is contradicted by health experts worldwide.
In an interview with Fox News’s Jeanine Pirro, Trump suggested the president’s critics were using the pandemic to undermine his father’s rallies, calling it a “cognizant strategy” that would cease once it was no longer politically expedient.
“You watch, they’ll milk it every single day between now and November 3," the younger Trump said. "And guess what, after November 3, coronavirus will magically, all of a sudden, go away and disappear and everybody will be able to reopen.”
Eric Trump is not saying that the virus itself does not exist. Instead, he is saying that the hysterical response is a deliberate effort to undermine the economy (his father’s strongest selling point) in the lead-up to the election. The flip side of his argument is that, if a Democrat were in the White House, the Democrats would have responded more rationally and, once the curve flattened, they would quickly have worked to get the economy back on track, despite the virus’s continued presence America.
