The Steelers 2020 Schedule is Finally Here

Week 11 PIT @ Jacksonville Sun. Nov.22 1PM CBS

Week 12 PIT @ Baltimore Thu. Nov.26 8:20PM NBC

Back to back road games 4 days apart? That's kinda messed up.

Oh got the jagoff game penciled in to go. I hope round 2 of the Wuhan **** show isn't rolling through by then.

Only four prime time games this year. Has almost always been five lately. Hopefully the Steelers will be in position to be "flexed in" when the time comes.

hotel rooms are booked for v Philly and at Dallas. Here We ******* GO

You're going back to Pittsburgh vs Philly AND going to Dallas, you maniac? That's some serious dedication my friend. Let's go! *spittle flying everywhere*

Only 4 prime time games? That's a good haul when you have 31 other teams in the league.

Yes, Steelworth. Only 4. Which is 1 less than the 5 the Steelers normally have, regardless of how many other teams play in the league. Was surprised to see it, that's why I mentioned it. Hope that's OK with you, or am I "trolling" again?

No, you're good. Carry on.

The older I get the less I look at schedules at the beginning of the season and dare to make a prognostication. So much moving around in the NFL from year to year that it is really tough to judge your own team until 3-4 games into the season.

This year with Covid-19 none of us know how well the teams will respond.

As to Sarge's 8-7-1 prediction, it's really hard to quibble with him considering his analysis.

Baltimore is loaded and on a roll.

Cleveland should be better if they can get over their 12-4 dreams and ticket to the Superbowl and play to the advertised potential of their personnel.

Cincy won't be the Bungles much longer. I think Burrows IS the real deal and with a new coach should be much more competitive this year.

Where does that leave the Stillers?

Well we hopefully have our future HOF QB coming back rested and able to play. Due to being off so much, I expect he will see more action in preseason than he has seen the last few years. He needs to get the timing down with the new receivers (WR and TE) and see how his arm is. Big Ben has always been a tough guy and I think he will do his best but Sarge makes valid points about this type of surgery AND Ben is 38.

I think the O line will have to rise to the occasion. Do we have the players to do it? Can this O Coach show his mettle after being Munch's right hand man all these years?

The RBs need to stay healthy and help out. I really have a feeling Derek Watt will help at FB. Loved Rosie Nix but he was hurt almost all of last year and when Ben went down early, Rosie's absence really showed down the stretch.

It is asking a lot but if Claypool can have something near JuJu's rookie year performance that will really help the overall passing game.

Can the kicking game stay solid?

Will the Defense be nearly as good as it was last year (without incredible D play last year we would have been 4-12).

So many question marks.

But despite all that I say GO Stillers!

Get enough wins to qualify for the playoffs.

Why do I say that?

By playoff time the Stillers start to jell and even at 38 with a rebuilt arm Big Ben is dangerous in the playoffs.

I think my son said it right. With even a top 20 qb the Steelers win 11 games last year. Ben doesn't have to be prime of his career good. He just has to be top 15 for them to be serious contenders. The defense is that good and the weapons are plenty on offense. The team travels less than 7000 miles and there are plenty of winnable games on paper.

This is the best Steelers defense in about 10 years.

If Ben is anywhere close to where he was in in 2017 and 2018, anything less than 13-3 would be a disappointment.

I was thinking 13-3 or 12-4 if Ben is healthy, shakes the rust off, and recovers. This will be a hard year to predict with so many things factoring in. I will say one thing the team sure seems battle tested to adversity. Let us see how the rest of the teams respond.

Trolling or NOT, I think they kept it to 4 as they wanted that option of being able to flex a game. I know that we here know but also think the NFL actually knows the STEELERS are going to be a force to be reckoned with. Nothing like a STEELERS game to garner ratings........

The Steelers had 5 night games last year and had a 6th flexed.

Having only four primetime games this year was a pleasant surprise. I know the out-of-town fans don't like it, but I hate having a third of the games at night, especially when three or more are at home. Getting home after 1 am just crushes you for a few days after the game for the work week.

They were the worst in the league, but Fichtner didn't help them a bit and he could have. If you read through the game threads from last season, I was on Fichtner every single game, so it isn't anything new. Dude has no imagination and seems to have little feel for the game or the talent on the field. Personally, I don't think Ben's arm is gonna hold up over an entire season. Major reconstructive elbow surgery on a 38 year throwing arm isn't something to be excited about. I think he will likely re-injure it at some point during the season. I mean, it's just my opinion, and I hope I'm wrong, but I'm just not drinking this "Ben will better than ever" kool-aid. That is rarely true for 38 year old QB's that haven't had major elbow reconstruction.

Hmmm...https://www.si.com/nfl/2019/09/24/ben-roethlisberger-surgery-steelers-2020-return

I'm not bustin' your balls, Sarge but I don't know if we can call it 'major elbow reconstruction'...
