Very accurate to my eye. It will be a tough team to make honestly. I think you are a little thick at running back with 5. I think they will probably keep an extra middle linebacker over an extra running back. Linebackers are far more useful for special teams then running backs. I thought the UFA punter had a pretty paltry college average didn't he? I could see Switzer's relationship with Ben keeping him on this team.

I'm lookin' for them to move Edmunds inside away from his weakness..covering..If not look for Brooks to move inside on some packages and make room for Allen

That would make Suttons move to S make more sense.

I like Marcus Allen but so far he hasn't earned a slot anywhere.

Looking at the roster as it sits right now we are weak after Gilbert at ILB so unless Houston or Spillane crush it in camp or Marcus Allen looks like he can switch inside I feel the Steelers use more DBs and less ILB this year. I feel McFarland gets a spot just because he was drafted in the 4th while Whyte still is the better player. I think the Steelers probably look to sign a veteran ILB if one gets cut and that unfortunately probably takes Whyte off the team. It’s too bad because he averaged a yard more than any other back on the team last year.

I would love for the Steelers to move Edmunds to a rover position S/LB hybrid and I assumed that was what they drafted him to do. Nope, not our coaching staff. Cram that square peg into that round hole. Sorry even though I’d love to see it we aren’t smart enough to do it.

I will say this if the Starting defense stays relatively intact especially Fitzpatrick, Watt, Dupree, Bush, Heyward and Tuitt and Ben plays at least 14 games. They will make the playoffs and contend. I know the corners are important but you have some starting depth there. Even if one of Nelson and Haden play the whole season.

I’ve been thinking a little more about the roster lately, and with the dress 2 practice squad rule.. I could see it being a little different this year. I don’t have an idea of who has practice squad eligibility and who doesn’t. But this could shape the roster a little more. Dress that backup center, and could use the other as a practice squad return man... quadree, whyte, somebody like that who may not take a roster spot but can move up on game days. I understand the Switz and Ben relationship, but he could be an odd man out for another roster spot due to this rule. Of course the circumstances could play to the familiar face... but career return average below

Nice list - couple comments:

I don't see them keeping CSW over their draft pick at TE. Really haven't seen enough from the rugby player to make that call. He's huge and physical but not much else IMO.

I think they keep another ILB - probably Spillane - for ST purposes if nothing else. Probably means K. Whyte has to go.
