Dalton signs 1 year 3 million contract with incentives up to 7 million

Dak has got to feel more unappreciated with each passing day......

I figured the Red Rider BB Gun wouldn't last for long on the open market. To bad the Cowboy's head coach Red Rider wasn't still there, would cause confusion all around..............

I also like Jerry causing stress to his pristine QB.

Jerry Jones is a tool...... I like it when players stick it to him in the pocket book...... then crash and burn.......

Wonder how many Superbowls he might of had if he just stayed out of the way in the 1990's and let Jimmy Johnson carry on directing the team

I put J Jones in the same category as Al Davis........ bigger ego than their pocketbooks ....... it makes me sick that CeeDee Lamb ended up in Dallas.....

Better there than with the cheats.

GO JERRUH! GO JERRUH! GO, GO, GO JERRUH!

Pats either really believe in their guy or they are tanking. I was sure Dalton would be a fit there.

Just kicking it around, what do you guys think of Dak as a potential replacement when Ben retires? Let's say it's an outright FA signing with top 3 QB money.

**** no! Is the correct answer. Want three reasons? I’ll give you one....No money hungry allowed, this house is not built on cash it’s wanting to play for the team, growing up wanting to be apart of it! This is the year we get another ring because behind Ben is everyone on that team wanting it not people who want to get Paid! They were already shown the door. 2020 for 7!!!

The Cowboys backup QB was either Cooper Rush or Ben DiNucci. They now have a viable backup to keep them competitive if Dak misses a few games due to injury. Good signing.

I like the signing as a backup but this is Jerry removing some of Dak's leverage. Gets a decent backup that could step in a run the offense well if Dak decides to hold out. The $3M that he cost will be more than made up for by the lost leverage and the price that Dak ends up signing for. Very smart business IMO.

Steelers like it they had interest in Dak in that draft. I think he is a good QB, not necessarily a great one.

I think Dak is a good qb, but very inconsistent. I don't know if he is worth franchise money. He is on the edge which i think is why dallas is being hesitant.

Couldn't agree more with that. I wouldn't want to pay him £30M a year when he hasn't shown that he can put the team on his back.

I think Dak is an above average QB. I think Dalton is an above average QB. Good signing.
Dalton can win as many games in Dallas as Dak. IMO.

I would take Dalton over Rudolph 8 days a week. Steelers would have signed a vet if they were smart. With Ben's age, mileage and injury history it's hard to believe they didn't sign Dalton.

I think that Dalton is the definition of an average quarterback. If you start to list the best QBs in the NFL then he invariably lands right in the middle. I'm not sure that Dak makes it in to the top 15 let alone the top 10. I think they're a toss up. One is just younger and more mobile.

Hiring a quality backup for a recently injured starting QB is a good idea. One could argue that not having a quality backup in that case would be ridiculously stupid.
