LMAO, new off-season, same old morons!

And, I can definitely agree with what you're saying here. They want Ben "gone". It's almost like his continued success is a personal affront to them on some level ... and it shows. As far as different treatment for the "Golden Boy", yup, Tommy gets away with all kinds of bullshit to this very day and they just either wash over it or try to laugh it off. smh

I don't think they want him gone(Ben). It isn't about that. It is about ratings. If the can bring in ratings and the network can twist something into a black vs white issue they will. They know there are idiots like us that will argue over the subject endlessly. Just my take on it. Anymore it isn't about reporting what is going on in football but how they can bring in ratings because ratings equal $$$$$. Just my take.

I wonder what the two goofs sitting next to him had to say. The one guy who played a year at Harvard before his Young and the Restless Role and the other guy who probably never wore a helmet except Halloween had to say. Yes Ben tells Tomlin and Colbert what to do. Then great Job Ben. There was zero value at 2.20 for a QB.

Exactly, I have never been a fan of this show. This may be one of the most inept groups to talk football ever assembled.

With exception of Kay the little hottie. I could sit and talk ball with her all day.
The best was when DeAngelo William's roasted those to *******. The one guy goes. He played college football. DeAngelo goes where. The guy said Princeton (sorry I said Harvard). DeAngelo started laughing at him.

So the entire OL forget how to block when he left? LMAO

No, they were designed to block for Bell and his running style making cuts off their pulling and trapping and he had the burst and vision to exploit that.

With the lumbering straight ahead backs we have try it they get their **** stuffed. It really was a perfect fit with Bell and our blocking style.

I watched over half the Jets games and they used a power scheme with straight ahead maulers and he just never had the holes open like when he ran with us.

I bet 90% of this board never watches other games every week besiides the Steelers, or only follow box score stat sheets, lol

So you are telling me Bell's rookie year with no Munch as OL coach Bell looked just as good behind that line as he did the years after Munch arrived and brought our o-line to a much better level..Keep telling yourself that his coaching meant nothing. I didnt say they forgot how to block. But watching the OL block last year compared to the year before was not nearly as impressive. Stats don't matter you say....OK sure but yards per carry is a pretty much used standard across the league (except for you cause I guess you are better and know much more than others) Bells rookie year no Munch 3.5ypc Bells next year (Munch 1st year) 4.7ypc followed by 4.9ypc 4.9ypc and then how strange Bells last year as his burst had started to decline because of MT running him into the ground 4.0ypc...Conners 1st year at RB (Munch last) 4.5 ypc Conner last year 4.0 ypc..Go ahead bring Bell back but he will average 3.5 ypc if lucky he is not close to the back he was running the ball ..and even his after catch skills have fallen off.He took a year off + being run into the ground by Tomlin when he was here it has equaled a declining player. But of course I'm wrong cause only almighty Spike knows.

Wait a sec Spike, 2018 running game blew? No Bell, but Conner stepped in and had 13 TDS and 1400 yards from scrimmage. I wouldn’t say it fell apart. Sure LeVeon was a big time player in the offense, but 1400 yards and 13 TDs isn’t to shabby.

LMAO

More stats in a boxscore!

In 2018 we had AB and JuJu on fire to keep defenses from stacking the box!

That might have had something to do with it, gee, yathink, take your stats and put them back on the shelf

Speaking of dusty shelves, 2018 was many China doll cracks ago for Connor, too

I think it's more Ben than anything, last year with no Ben teams just stacked the box and had no respect or worry for the passing game. When Ben is in there, Bell, DeAngelo, Conner all have had very good numbers when they've played.

Well you got that part right, lol

Football is a TEAM GAME!

Individual stats dont mean ****.

A TEAM wins games for a million different reasons

I have spoken

Tom nailed it. If we had Barkley, seriously doubt he would have had the success he had in 2019. He would have faced, 8-9 in box sets. No respect for the pass and practically begged Duck to make throws he couldn’t complete.

Well of course Ben was the biggest difference in the offense but if you remember he didn't exactly light it up in the passing game the !ittle he played, the receivers still weren't getting open.

We can only hope everyone comes back healthy and they have a better plan of attack than slamming Conner up the gut and forcing the ball to JuJu.

I think that injury weighed heavily early.

Ben never said he was hurting, did he?

Holton and Moncrief are gone, the offense already got better, lol

Bell had the most scrimmage yards per game for a runningback in the history of the league, over 5+ seasons. He made everyone else's job easier, and the guys around him look better than they really are.
Take him away all the sudden the line sucks and we are bottom of the league rushing #29, and #31 ever since.
Bell was the man in Pittsburgh, so was Brown.
The Steelers orginization (and a big part of they're less educated fanbase) thought they would be better off not paying him what he wanted, and shipping Brown for a 5th.
Now they are a scrambling and gambling on draft day to try to patch up all the holes on offense, to try to get Big Ben one more shot at the playoffs.

I think some teammates indicated as such....

Ben's injury was a case of see if it holds. If you get the surgery is season over, but you know it isn't great, so he tried knowing it can't really get worse in terms of prognosis. Partially torn requiring surgery and fully torn requiring surgery. Same thing.

But guess who was at the very bottom of the league in rushing? .... 31st in yards, 31st in Tds and 32nd in YPA.. yup Bell and the Jets. The Steelers didn't have Ben last year so the running game was going to struggle because the defense played at least 8 in the box. Bell was not worth what he was asking. RBs can be replaced. This is a passing league. How many playoff games did we win with Bell and AB?

Bell also had tons of touches. Most teams use 2-3 backs heavily. It's easy to get alot of yards when you're the only one getting the ball. Bell is one of the most overrated players ever.

You might want to adopt the use of spell check or proof read before dissing the Steeler organization and their fanbase.

Bell gave up 14.5 million on tag and opted not to sign $70 million /5year ........approximately 5 million more per year than the next highest paid RB (D Freeman) at the time of the offer ...... only to sign with the Jets for less (new coach publicly states not thrilled with the signing)

AB quit on the team, created the trade situation with his agent and was dealt for a 3rd and 5th pick.... we get DJ and Gentry... Raiders get screwed over again...No Martavis or AB

I fully admit all 3 of those dudes had talent .........but I will also state that the Steelers got the most out of them before decisions had to be made to move on.

Last reality check........Martavis and AB not even on a roster ...losing millions along the way ................AB promising autotune career ahead ......raper........sorry ..rapper and father of the year nominee
and Bell ........not exactly living up to that hefty paycheck ....... doubt he makes it to the end of his contract....... rapper. prodigy..... yeah

just one of those uneducated fan's take

ship has sailed on those dudes........... you do what you can with the picks available to you to field a contending team

we spent years addressing the DEF and have finally seen some light on the field

so now we select some OFF picks ............how is that scrambling or gambling exactly ??

How many former players add ANYTHING to a football show? Of course all of the TV procedures love the debate shows and hot takes. A few days after the draft we should be watching team specials with experts breaking down how each member of the draft class fits into his new team and instead a clown is making stuff up bashing Ben again.

Meril hodge says hi

You mean Merril DuAine Hoge

spends most of his time writing about CTE being overhyped and looking for someone to sue for his cancer (Round UP) ...
kind of a weird position to take for someone who got knocked out of football due to a concussion.....

but I do agree he still offers more content than most ex players

That's a big affirmative re: ole Merril Hoge. I loved when he, Jaws & Sal Pal would break down matchups before the games, geez I think it was called NFL Matchup?

I don't even know if it's still on, I haven't watched it for years, but it was one of the only shows worth its salt when it came down to some serious match-up breakdowns and analysis.

Little bit of revision of history going on with this. Bell was offered more than he originally said he wanted to the club in 12/17. THEN 3 months later, someone got in his ear (OBJ probably) telling him he catches as many balls as some starting WRs, and should be paid like one. Hence his request he should be paid both as a RB and as a WR. He had been franchised non-ex because Pitt wanted to keep him. They communicated to each other in good faith 2 years in a row. He didn’t listen to his agent, nor his mother the summer of 2017 and did the same thing summer 2018, then skipped TC, preseason all the while intimating “he would be there when the games counted”. The rest is obvious. So “not paying him what he wanted” is a misnomer since Bell himself flipped flop as to what “he wanted” two straight years.

Yea, that Brown kid happens to be out of business and last I checked...... BELL was mid-pack. Both chose to leave and we all know how that story ended. The thing is you act as if we'd be two super bowls richer if we had kept them............ couldn't win one when they were all happy but now suddenly we would be winning them, get real.
